Timeline and Background

1901 - Robert Greeley's born

1920- Robert starts a small family and makes a living as an event planner/booking agent setting up events for performers, political debates and public speakers alike.

1921 - Robert organizes a small lecture-tour for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to promote his book "The Coming of the Fairies"

1923 - Inspired by Conan Doyle, he and a few other "adventurists" run a small expedition to upstate NY to investigate a local lake monster (a-la Nessie and Champ-ie). The group end up getting lost and Robert finds himself in teh Hedge, where he meets his Keeper, Zoafaar, the ice Dragon. After passing a "challenge" given to him by Zoafaar, Robert is taken to the dragon's realm in Faerie.

Durance: The dragon's realm was crystaline perfection. Robert was granted a life of privilage and adventure, finally able to act out his fantasies of being a fairytale Prince. He was used as both entertainment (performing dazzling displays of coreographed "battles" at Fae gatherings) and a proxy piece for his Keeper when dealing with other Gentry (using charm and grace to act as a Herald of sorts, relaying messages, hosting balls, etc). It truly was a dream come true. But through it all, one thought nagged at the back of his mind. a growing concern that just wouldn't let him loose himself to the blissful beauty of his new home - the memory of his family: his wife and child. The image of their home, the grand new house that he had finally been able to afford after years of running himself into the ground with work, remained burned in his mind's eye. He asked his Keeper again and again, if he could just go back and get them. If he could just bring him here to this paradise and share it with him. Every single time, his Keeper refused, offended and insulted that Robert would need or even -want- anything other than what Zoafaar himself had given given. Finally, years later, he asked, as he always did, and Zoafar finally gave him a different answer. "You can leave", the great beast said.," and I will not stop you. But if you do. If you would -ever- betray me like that, you are no longer welcome here. In fact, should you prove to be so ungrateful and our paths ever cross again, be -sure- that I will -end- your miserable existance!" Frightened by Zoafaar's words, but elated at the prospect of joining his wife and child, he left that very night.

Escape: No sooner had he set foot in the hedge than was it made clear just how unwelcome he had just made himself. Not only did he have to contend with Briarwolves and other hobgolblins, but soldiers and guards of Zoafaar's Realm also stayed hot on his heels. Through it all, the image of his house, his family, his wife's smiling face, got him through it. Fending off his attackers , he finally managed to stagger through the hedge in the middle of Central Park .... 70 years after the day he left.

1995 - Return: Stumbling through the streets of New York, cold and frightened, this new world into wich he emerged nearly drove him mad. Too many lights and sound,s bodies and faces. Everyonbe just as cold and seemingly soulless as the next. His Clarity in dnager he kept stepping in and out of the shallow edges of the Hedge forlron and broken, searching desperately for that house and the smiling faces within. Just when he thought all hope was lost he found it. His house.. although it could barely be called a home.Just as broken and dillapitaded as he felt the place was a shambles, the surrounding neighborhood just as fittingly horrid. Still, home was home and he made his way inside. To his horror and desolation, the reality sunk in at last. There was no warm fire, no smiling faces. The house was empty, cold and dirty. Noone else was there save him and what looked to be a young man, facedown on the floor at the foot of the stairs, lying in a pool of blood. Tentatively, Robert rolled the body over only to find himself staring down at a face which resembled his own. For a time (hrs? days? weeks?) he meandered about the house, rumaging around for any clues as to what had happened and who the young man was. After much detective work (following the long, protracted ordeal of burying the young man in the back yard), he managed to peice together the identity of the unfortunate youth. It turned out that the young man was none other than Robert's last living descendant, (his wife, child, and grandchild had long since grown old and passed on at various points in the past), and that he had foolishly found himself owing money to a number of the "wrong" sort of people. The boy, not being bale to pay, was summarilly "dispatched" with five bullets in his chest. A shame, really but the silver lining was of course that noone else had none (or cared) of the boy's death. This fact, added to their striking resemblance, led Robert to his decision - he would take on the identity of his slain descendant and start a new life for himself. Thankfully, the fool boy had not found out about the series of stocks and bonds Robert had purchased way back in the 20's that Robert had hidden away in the house. Though jumbled, he was at least able to fight through his memories to find them and use them to start off his new life on better fotting than his unlucky descendant.

1996 to Present - Robert has seen "the future" and in his opinion - it's horrid. As such, he mostly keeps to himself nowadays and devotes his time to his business first and foremost. Said business is run right from his fateful home. The very same building that got him through the Hedge. Using the (impressive amount of) money from his stocks and bonds, he was able to both pay off his descendant's debt (thereby putting him in good standing with his "debtors") and rennovate his house; converting it into a rather lavish funeral home. All things said and done, he lives comfortably, though not by any means "rich". Business is steady, and keeps him in the black most of the year, his profession allowing him to focus on his true calling in life - the Courts of the Lost.

Currently: To New York City's Lost Robert Greely is the Draconic Fairest known as the "Silver Dragon" leader of a notorious mercenary band that swears its loyalty to whomever rules the freehold ... as well as anyone else who needs them - for a price. Trading their services for money, tokens, Goblin Fruit, Court recognition and most of all, favors, his mercenary band has worked itself into just as comfortable a spot within the NYC Freehold as Robert has within the mortal world. Equal parts aloof and gentile, he represents his Motley with an icy cold countenance.
