Overview

Alias: None.

True Name: Wilbert Henry Penrose

Age: 22 (Apparent Age 42)

Lost: 20 years

Concept: An Autumn Ghost - He Died Too Young.

Entitlement: None.

Physical description: Toehead blond, pale gray eyes, 6 foot tall, 215 lbs with some muscle, Nordic descent, Gay Male. Quite furry. His hair tends to float around him in Faerie, and always grows past his shoulders regardless of shearing effects, so he's taken to braiding some, and weighing it down with beadwork. Regardless of the surrounding time of year, there always seems to be some kind of autumnal foliage caught in his hair. Outside of the Hedge, he just leaves the braids, beads, and foliage in his hair, and tucks it under a hat.

Relevant Mechanics:

Seeming - Fairest (Preturnaturally handsome blonde male, slightly see-through like the ghost of your fondest memory when he is in the World of Dreams, the Hedge, or Faerie.)

Kith - Treasured (Wil's Durance was spent on a pedestal in the Autumn quarter of his Keeper's garden, the ghost of it's former lover whom he resembled, made to entertain at garden parties)

Court - Autumn (Eternal Autumn is his bailiwick: memory, lost love, twilight, reaping what has been sown, the remains of life with loss survived.)

Virtue - Justice (Wil regains all spent willpower points whenever he does the right thing at risk of personal loss or setback.)

Vice - Wrath (Wil regains one spent willpower point whenever he unleashes his anger in a situation where doing so is dangerous and anger is inappropriate.)

Seeming Blessing - Fairest of them All (Wil can spend 1 point per +1D glamour on Presence, Manipulation, and Pursuasion die pools, even against Changelings.)

Seeming Curse - Manipulates Others (Wil suffers a -1D penalty on any roll to resist losing Clarity.)

Kith Ability - Alabaster Fortitude (once per scene, Wil can spend a point of Glamour to retake any failed Stamina, Resolve or Composure draw, save only a draw made to avoid gaining a derangement through Clarity loss).

Character Information

Known History

Basic Timeline: Taken by one of the Gentry at 22 as an undergraduate in the field of dream research during a lucid nightmare while volunteering for a sleep study, Wil was kept by this Fae in his garden to "entertain" at garden parties because he bore a slight resemblance to the Fae's erstwhile lover. Faerie exagerated the resemblance into a Fairest mantle of very slight transparency -- ephemeral, telic, unatainable beauty. His role at various parties was to succomb completely to Fae guests' will, but as a ghost of the Fae's lover in the Eternal Autumn quarter of his garden, a mortal party favor mocking diminishment, death, and loss, quaint to the Others. He escaped one night during a Masquerade, and "woke" again to find someone else making his name for itself in the field of Dream Research twenty years later. His long nightmare seemed unending. Time recorded that he was twenty years older, when he returned from Faerie Just last Aurumn. He's just finished taking some seasonal work at a WeHo club, that looks to be going permanent, since large groups of patrons seem to come in to see him by and by. His lack of a Social Security Number has recently been worked out with a contact he met through his friends.

Current Activities: Making the most of his Fairest transformation waiting tables at The Abbey in West Hollywood. People often find the small talk suddenly turning into a recollection of their recent dreams, especially upon hearing that he was once a scientist in the field, back in school. And, you can hear everything that's going on in LA from the clubs, so it's a good place to hang out. Wil hangs around the ice machine on those rare occasions at work when the Hedge is near and he thinks his armor of frigid fury might be needed.

Merit Details: As a toy for the Gentry, Faerie nonetheless granted Wil a few social defense edges, which he honed in the garden of his servitude. There is a Cloak of Chill around him most of the time, certainly if there is a symbol of cold on him somewhere. When pressed he can resort to a lethally wounding frigid shield of absolute zero around him, touching with it if his safety is in jeopardy, or he will glare to evoke the withering gaze of Autumn, ignoring armor. But, most of all, Wil has learned as much as he can about shaping the Dreamscape, his former haven, and he isn't above searching other's dreams for the goodwill he tries vainly to convince himself is actually at the core of living motivation.

Background: Wil used to read fantasy. Pehaps it was that, or perpahs something else, which led him to the field of dream research, back before Faerie. But, plumbing the depths of twisted Fae appetites in the dreamscape, and knowing the true nature of dream now, Wil has little leftover taste for Academia. Besides, something else is making his name for itself in the field.
