Name: Amnis Persilicis (he no longer cares to use his birth name).

Position: Was Maleperduys, Chamberlain

Court: Autumn (Mantle 2) Court Goodwill: Winter 1

Physical description: Amnis, as he now calls himself, stands well over six feet tall. To the 'mortal eye' he appears slender of build, but beyond the mask his emaciation is pronounced. His arms and legs are much longer than is truly natural. He hides his frame within a moderately bulky priest-coat of black material, that those who know, will realise is Hedgespun. Under the mien, his coat shimmers darkly, as if made from black hoar-frost. Amnis' features go beyond pale, to a ghostly white, with almond-shaped, pale eyes, the shining blue of new glaciers. He pointed ears also lie quite flat against his head.

Background: Born in Western NSW, Australia in 1919, he was the youngest son of a quite wealthy landowner. He showed promise in education aand entered the priesthood at an early age. In 1939 Australia entered the Second World War. Shortly after conscription began, and though the priesthood was initially exempt, in late 1940, he recieved a letter saying he was to be drafted. He prayed that he would not be required to fight, though it was not God that answered the prayer. He was taken to Faerie, and in return for being taken to the individuals' manor and kept safe from all harm, Amnis promised to serve as butler and manservant, and care for his library/gallery, until the war was over. The definition of 'safe' and the specifics of which war were not specified.

Amnis served as a more than equitable butler for many decades, and offers were made by other Fey to purchase him from his Keeper's service. His Keeper refused. Eventually, Amnis asked of his Keeper how the war was going. His Keeper then informed him that America was withdrawing from Iraq and Kuwait, and therefore the Oath should be fulfilled. Amnis emerged to a world far removed from the one he knew. This was in 1991. As far as Amnis knew, less than half that time had passed. The move to Faerie, the petty cruelties and casual asides of his Keeper, seemed small in comparrison to building a new life in this strange new world, alone. His time there had also changed him in many ways, both physically and mentally. Amnis now has great reservations about his prior faith. He battles between a damnation of a god that would let the Fey exist, to small thoughts late at night, where he considers the possibility that the Fey were truly God's angels, bringing vengence for his cowardice. From this standpoint he often has a level of contempt for other changelings, particularly those who needed to escape, rather than have bargained a time limit into the contract.

One thing Amnis learnt in Faerie however, was to school his face and bodylanguage such that his internal thoughts never showed. Though other changelings may treat him a little differently as he is not an 'escapee', he is still a valued member of Changeling society.

Since exiting the Thorns, Amnis has played the role of Chief of Staff of Malepurdeys until its fall. Unlike some residents, Amnis always had a back door. He survived, but his whereabouts are currently unknown.
