Alias(es): Arthur MacAodh, Flickerflash Real Name: Alan Davis (not commonly known) Age: 25 (apparently 16-ish) Concept: Hero-in-Training Entitlement: None as yet Physical description: Arthur seems to be made entirely of living, flickering flame which flows around a human shape, the size and build of a gangling teenager. His eyes are in stark contrast, green and entirely human. His clothes are bright and colourful but practical, and he has a timid air unusual among the Summer Court. A tabby cat perches on his right shoulder, observing with sharp eyes, balanced by a Snowy Owl on his left. His only possession of note is a battered-looking sword strapped to his back. His mask is that of a fairly handsome young teenager with striking, unruly red hair and an athletic build. Known History
Basic Timeline:
- July 1982 - born in Edinburgh, Scotland
- 1987 - begins school and becomes a victim of bullying. He is pulled in to the martial arts scene by his brother, Ian.
- Summer 1990 - Taken by the Mandarin of Resplendant Flame
- Autumn 2007 - Stumbles out of the Hedge in Edinburgh, and finds the Lost at a club used by the Freehold apparently by pure luck.
Current Activities: Arthur is trying to find out what happened to his family and friends while he was gone, especially his brother Ian. Right now, he's just trying to get a life - he needs an identity to get a job and earn rent money.
Merit Details:
Background: Arthur was born to a pair of doctors in 1982, both living and employed in Edinburgh. He was fortunate enough to have an affluent background and a devoted older brother, but his parents' busy schedule kept them somewhat distant. A natural geek, he was bullied at school until his brother Ian started trying to get him in to martial arts. Although he went to formal classes as well as sparing with both Ian and his brother's martially inclined friends, he didn't pick up the skills easily. Despite this, he started standing up to school bullies not only for himself, but also for other children at his school. Although Ian supported him, it got him in to trouble with teachers and bullies alike. Then the Mandarin of Resplendent Flame came to visit in the summer of 1990. Offering Alan the opportunity he had always dreamed of - to train with a master martial artist and become a hero capable of protecting others - the Mandarin swept him away through the Hedge to Arcadia, to the Court of Resplendent Flame. There he was trained as a champion of the Court, until one day he discovered the Court's torture chamber. Challenging the Mandarin, he found he had been living a lie, constructed to keep him in line. He fled the court with a torture victim rescued from the Mandarin's castle, but lost them in the Hedge. Escaping alone in back to Edinburgh in Autumn 2007, he has stated to the Lost that found him more than once that he is certain the Mandarin let him go. Whilst in the Arcadia he appears to have aged only eight years, despite the seventeen that have passed. Aleksander Sokol, the Summer King of Edinburgh, quickly noted his bravery and martial potential, and swore him in to the Iron Spear, before passing him on to Evie Greene, who he felt would be better suited to getting Arthur back on his feet. Now acting as Aleksander's squire, Arthur has apparently picked up two Hedge Beast companions, although no-one seems quiet sure where they sprang from or why they follow the young man.
