Character Information
When she returned from the Hedge not long ago, The Ballerina was little more than a dancing doll.
No one knows when or where she comes from; only that a tiny antique music box is likely her only worldly posession from the time before she was Changed.
The Ballerina, now called Rina for short, is slowly adjusting to the world this side of the Hedge. She has made friends and acquaintances in many places; she has joined the Winter Court; and she continues to learn all about this world and what things mean. She cries less often than she did, and she is more often present than she was.
Known History
Basic Timeline: She was small then, so small before they took her, her parents--no--her keepers was it? Her Lord and Lady--they mix together in her mind. She remembers, once, the shoes came off. But they don't any more. She tears and tears and they'll bleed, oh her feet they'll bleed alright, but the shoes don't ever come off. Not even at night. Not even in dreams.
One things is certain. She's been over there a long time, they've been unravelling her and reknitting her a thing, an object, a dancer for their passing amusements for a long time. Fixing her will take much, if she can ever be fixed.
She dances, and her art and her form and her sorrow are flawless. She's good for little else.
Current Activities: Rina is an active Changeling in the Kansas City area.
Merit Details:
Motley
Rina's closer friends include Pawn and Sam. She also often calls on the wisdom and help of Dr. Somnus.
Allies
Kansas City has an influx of Autumn Court members, and The Ballerina seems to be on neutral to good terms with all of them. Better the monster you know than the monster you don't?
- Pawn is the Fixer who took her in, the first one to find her this side of the Hedge. He currently has his hands full attempting to teach her to be a functional person again...Good luck, he'll need it.
- Samantha Glass has pledged a year and a day of gaurdianship or until she is able to save The Ballerina's life, whichever comes first. And no, it doesn't count if your ask someone to try to kill her so you can save her and get out of the pledge!
- Dr Somnus, "the good doctor" of Kansas City, seems uninterested in The Ballerina's particular dysfunctions but has obligingly babysat her on occassion. Once she overcame her discomfort of large gatherings she didn't prefer being told not to wander off but she stayed when told...mostly. She has asked Dr. Somnus in passing about love, an idea she doesn't understand, since he's so taken with Miss Vicky Sage.
- Shula doesn't spend much time at courte but when she does, she is glorious to behold. As The Ballerina understands her, Shula dances this way: writhes hand like a dancing flame
- Jack Sprat was the Brat Prince of Kansas City, when Autumn reigned. Whoever put this lunatic on the throne must've been more off than Jack and The Ballerina combined...He is the definition of a Truly Scary Monster.
Winter
- Hans is the Winter King, when Winter holds its sway. He values information more than hasty action.
- Rosalynn is a breathtakingly beautiful "ice queen." Rina imagines this is what women are supposed to look like when they grow up.
- Wendy Ann Dahl is a manikin from the 1940's. She talks about the war, and doesn't understand much yet about modern technology.
Spring
- Panzer is the faun, like Mr. Tumnus, who might on occasion be tempted to lead Rina astray. But he's also looked out for her and defended her at times. He is Spring's crown.
- Seamus is Wendy Ann's friend. He most recently led us on a perilous cake adventure.
- -- is a belly dancer. Rina never tires watching her body undulate in that strange fashion, though she herself is sorely lacking in the familiarity of moving in _that_ way.
- Persephone and Johnny Hunger are a wildcat girl and lupine boy new into town. Rina doesn't understand much about them except that they are "hunters." Who or what their prey are, perhaps, they'll tell her when she's older.
Summer
- Tyler is a fireman, and can always be seen toting his signature axe. At her behest, he has taught Rina to throw a punch now and again.
- Jabberwocky is a huge man with an intimidating scar running the breadth of his throat. He says Rina reminds him of his daughter. This seems to be his one soft spot; otherwise he's all business.
That Side
- Wilhelm is an intimidating man even in his mask, one not to be trifled with lightly. He looks as if he could likely break a man in half, so why does The Ballerina assert that he is kind and gentle? She really must be cracked. It seems they have some connection from That Side of the Hedge.

Quotes
-She asked me what love was. I mean, seriously. How could I resist that? The only problem is that normally I am REALLY good at answering that for people in a way that is specifically tailored for that person. I couldn't answer her though. Some people are just already too broken to know the truth. - Holloway
-Yeah what about her? Just leave her alone and do not hurt her.. Wilhelm
I remember meeting her at the Autumn Fair... she asked about my Crown. Interesting girl. I think I scared her. Abel
'Rina's 'bout as Lost as anybody I ever seen. Sweetling still don't know where she is. Still, I'd kill anybody who hurt her. I'm an ol' softy like that. Red Grif Dunsirn
