The Replacement (Description)

Mask: Barbie Warburton is a short and buxom 16 year old girl with bright blue eyes and copper hair. She has an easy smile that seems to light everything up around her. She tends to wear her hair away from her face save for one lock that hangs in front of her left eye. Her ears are pierced with delicate pearls. She usually wears earth and neutral tones, dressing usually for comfort and a sophisticated style. Her smile is bright and seems to light up the room. She keeps her fingernails short and buffed. She tends to not wear much makeup, usually only just a light coating of an orange-ish colored lipgloss that smells like oranges.

Mien: Barbie looks like a doll made with pieces of jumbled string and corn husks. She has no face at all.

Notable Traits: Barbie is very intelligent and popular, getting along with most people around her. She smiles easily and has her Father wrapped around her fingers.

Living the Lie (History)

The Poser or the Posed?

Barbie was a perfect baby: quiet and easily amused. She was a blessing for her grieving father, giving him all the affection that he needed in this trying time. However, as cuddly as she was to her father, Barbie was aloof and shy to her Uncle Brogan. No one blamed her for being, considering that the large retarded man barked at her constantly. Barbie knew the truth, though. Brogan wasn't barking, he was saying the word "Elf" over and over again.

Barbie knew that she had to watch what she did around him. She had to act as child-like as possible without taking her eyes off of the large Ogre. She managed to do just that for the first four years of her life before the Cyclopian tried anything. She had been getting a bath from her Father when the phone rang. Leaving his daughter in the tub playing, he went to go answer the call. Barbie had been far too intent on playing than to watch the retarded oaf that had lumbered into the bathroom. But Brogan was quicker than she expected him to be, and his strength was legendary. It was less than the time it takes to blink an eye before he was holding the litte girl under the water. If it hadn't been for her father, Barbie would have died that night.

Making it Mine:

In the end, Brogan couldn't stay there. He got shipped to a home for adults with special needs. Barbie had her father wrapped around her little finger, so she had a perfect little life. Being a private teacher for retarded children was actually pretty profitable, so she was pretty pampered; going to private schools and getting the latest anything she asked for. Now that Barbie is a Junior in High School, she has everything that she could ever want. She has lots of friends, even a boyfriend. She is in the top 10% of her class, and is looking forward to persuing a career in either law or social services. She had pretty much convinced herself that Barbara would never see this side of the Hedge again, and has delighted in telling herself that she is the real Barbara Lily Warburton and the other one is just some little dream...

Snatching at Threads:

Unfortunetly for Barbie, sometimes dreams can come back to haunt you. A few months ago, Barbie got the distinct feeling that Barbara had crossed the Hedge. She hasn't bothered to try and do anything about it, hoping that the Changeling will either not know where to look for her family or that her Keeper will drag her back into the Hedge before she has a chance to find her. Regardless on if that happens or not, Barbie is more than willing to kill to keep her life.
