Before Arcadia

Lord Gramora can remember little before his keeper "The Dark Child" took him. He spent to much time in the relm of the Fay, the Hedge stripped him of too much of his precious humanity. All that remaines is a faint and hazy recollection of his family farm and the fear of the "Black Sky". Gramora has deduced through self-evaluation that he must have been taken some time during the Oklahoma Dust Bowl at a relatively young age.

The Dark Child

Time in Arcadia

Although Gramora can remember little of his "Old Life", that first Night when "The Dark Child" took him will forever stand out in his mind. There was a great gathering of his friends and family. Perhaps it was a wedding, one of the few ocasions to celebrate in those grim times. Perhaps it was a traveling revival. The peripheral details are lost to him, what he can never forget is the aperance of the most lovely young girl he had ever laid eyes on. She moved through the crowd effortlessly as though none other could see her. She was garbed in a stately black gown cut to a Victorian style. Although her face and frame placed her age in her mid teens, her ageless eyes were too full of cold understanding. She aproached him with an inhuman grace that set his juvenile heart to pounding. She appraised him from head to toe as though she was selecting some accessory to her lovely gown. At long last she broke the heart wrenching silence with her musical voice that could only have come from the heavens, even if her words were cold and reproachful. "Yes, I think you shall do most nicely. Tall, with those striking broad shoulders to help catch the eye, but not too fair. Never too fair, a good escort adds to his lady's appearance and never outshines her." With that, she rose upon her toes and placed the most delicate of kisses upon his cheek. Her scent was the promise of youthful first love. At that moment, the life of the boy was lost and Gramora the escort was born. From there, it was the endless dark ball and cold appraising eyes.

After the Escape

Gramora has kept himself quite busy in the thirty odd years since his release. Unlike many changelings Gramora never escaped, he was released. One night the “Dark Child” came to him and in her cold and hurtful way announced that Gramora no longer interested her. He had grown from adolescent into a young man and now the pair looked quite out of place next to each other; for the “Dark Child” never aged. With that she took Gramora and returned him to the realm of man. Her departing words would haunt his dreams till his dieing days. “Stay here my Ichabod; if ever you catch my fancy again I’ll know where to find you.” The fear of her return is the single greatest motivation in Gramora’s life. For even after years of growth and the accumulation of allies, prestige, and power he’s not sure if her Siren like manipulation of the heart wouldn’t crack his defenses like an ogre cracking walnuts. Yes, Baron Gramora has been quite busy these past thirty years. He has a reunion to prepare fore.

Little Oaks Just before the storm

1935 Saturday August 9: Abduction by the “Dark Child” giant dust Storm destroys the town of Little Oaks Oklahoma. Their where no survivers.

1975 Friday June 13: Released by the “Dark Child” for unknown reasons same day a tornado struck Stillwater Oklahoma.

1975 Tuesday August 3: Found work at Eddy’s Muffler. Assumed the alias of Ichabod Gram and begins to learn the scrap trade.

1975 Friday September 21: Ichabod Gramora formally joins the Court of Autumn.

1982 Thursday January 02: Gramora, through savings and wise investments offers to buy his employers' business. They accept, and Eddy’s Muffler becomes Ichabod’s Scrap.

1987 Monday September 21: Gramora, wishing to give something back to the city that showed him so much kindness - and sensing a need in the Changeling community - begins work on his life’s obsession: a Hollow large enough to accommodate all the Autumn court. Gramora christens his great project Castle Tetanus, named no doubt for his affinity to rusted scrap metal.

1998 Monday September 21: Castle Tetanus is complete. The colossal fortress made entirely of rusted iron is made available to all Changelings of the Autumn Court in need of shelter. All Baron Gramora asks in return of any guest is that they follow his rules of hospitality.

2001 Monday December 31: Formalization of the Barony of the Unbroken Circle. This Noble Order dedicates itself to the stability of all freeholds through adherence to the seasonal court cycle. Baron Gramora is a founding member.

2003 Spring season: Something happens to Baron Gramora. He becomes more and more reserved. No longer is he seen smiling and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Whispers in the freehold suspect it has to do with the jilting of his budding romance with the Spring Queen Cahalenn
