History

Timeline and Background

  • March 15, 1972 Saigon, South Vietnam - Huu Danh Hoang is a child of shame. His mother, Kim Tu Hoang comes from an aristocratic Vietnamese family. They have a long lineage and can claim descent from the Nguyen Dynasty. During the Vietnam conflict, Kim Tu fell in love with an American soldier. She would sneak away from her family compound to spend time with her Frank. Unfortunately, he did not return her love. She was nothing more than an object of lust to him. Frank left without warning and provided her with no contact information in the United States. He did leave her pregnant, though. When Kim Tu’s pregnancy was revealed to her family, they threw her out calling her a whore. The only thing that kept her from truly becoming a prostitute was the fact that she could read, write and speak English. She also had fluent command of Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese and Cambodian. She managed to get work on one of the American bases as a translator. Huu Danh was born in the base hospital. Due to his dual parentage, Kim Tu’s connections on the base, and the shoddy nature of the paperwork during the final year of the war; Huu Danh was listed as an American citizen in his birth records.
  • 1972-1973 Saigon, South Vietnam - During the final days in Saigon, those records would prove to be Kim Tu’s salvation. The D.O.A. illegally evacuated Kim Tu and her child to Clark Air Force base in the Philippines, along with American civilians. As the foreign mother of an American child, she was put at the front of the line for refugee status.
  • 1973-1977 Various U.S. Military Bases - Immigration status did not equal immigration finances. Huu Danh spent the first few years of his life on American military bases. Kim Tu worked as a translator on bases throughout the Philippines, Japan and Korea. When she had finally socked away enough money to get tallow the two of them to live in the mainland United States, she applied for a work transfer.
  • 1977-1990 San Francisco, California - It didn’t take long for the other kids to find an easier name to call Huu Danh. He became Danny to his classmates. Danny was one of those kids that could never sit still in school. If he had gone to school in the medicated era, his diagnosis would have been ADHD. Since he was in school when he was, he just spent a lot of time in the Principle’s office and in detention. Despite his being viewed as a troublemaker by the adult authorities, Danny wasn’t seen this way by his peers. He was the life of the party and was the source for things the students wanted. Danny was popular and always the center of a swirl of students. Secretly, this popularity was not what Danny wanted. When others weren’t looking, his eyes were always on the sky. The only people who ever took notice of this were his mother and the military personnel she worked with. Kim Tu encouraged it by purchasing him telescopes and model airplanes. The military men let hang around and absorb their chatter. Danny wanted nothing more than to be an astronaut, but his poor grades hurt his chances for that. His only chance was to enter the military and get into the space program from that side.
  • 1990-1999 Hill Air Force Base, Utah - Danny entered the Air Force right out of high school. He was one of those rare people who had a natural talent for piloting. This raw talent got him into programs that his lack of education should have kept him out of. Danny was stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah and entered their test pilot program. The Air Force put him through college and his new military discipline allowed him to graduate with a degree in Astronomy. This all came to a crashing end when his new Master ripped him from a test plane, mid-air.
  • 1999 Arcadia - Danny clearly remembers only three things from his time in Arcadia. The first is the name his Master used, Gagarin. Danny is convinced this is a fake name. Since when were immortal True Fae named the same as the first man in space? The second is the absolute wonder of direct access to an unlimited ocean of stars. The last is a feeling of terrible, complete loneliness.
  • 1999-2007 Salt Lake City, Utah - How Danny escaped is as complete a mystery to him as it is to anyone else. He woke up in LDS hospital surrounded by doctors and MPs. To them, his plane had crashed into the Great Salt Lake and there was no sign of him or the plane after that. Danny was found a few weeks later, badly injured and babbling complete garbage, on Antelope Island. No matter how he tried, no one believed his story of kidnap. After his physical recovery, Danny was given a medical discharge from the military. This allowed him to qualify for honorable discharge benefits. Danny refused psychiatric treatment, as he was sure of his sanity. His commanding officer hoped that Danny wouldn’t end up as another crazy, homeless vet. Homelessness didn’t last very long. Danny quickly discovered his unique abilities. He used these abilities to his advantage and worked his way up through the criminal underworld. Danny also developed the feeling that people would be his salvation, people and their desires. His ability to pilot became a sellable commodity. Danny was willing to fly vehicles and into situations that no legit pilot would touch. With his power climb, his increased personal magnetism and the hero worship that surrounds military pilots Danny was able to surround himself with loyal followers. His enterprises grew enough that he purchased his own airboat and hanger. Danny was no longer an employee; he was his own man. The Spring Court caught him through a simple device… a party. Danny was circulating in a pretty wild crowd when he saw something out of his nightmares. His first instinct was to run. Danny was not going back. When he ran, his nightmare followed. Danny could not run faster than the Beast that chased him down. After getting his ass handed to him and having the concept of Changelings explained, Danny realized that he had been living like a member of the Spring Court ever since his return. With thoughts of a whole new market in mind, Danny officially aligned himself with the Spring Court and began to serve as a Master of Events within the Court. Others were leaders; Danny was a host and supplier. Changelings have desires too…

Current Activities:

Danny maintains and lives his Court affiliation through helping others to get what they desire and by living his own life to the fullest. He readily acquires the legal things and smuggles the non-legal things. Danny's parties are known for their decadence and invitations are saught by Changelings and non-Changelings alike. His legal facade is as the owner of Ngan Ha Imports.
