Briar Rose

Like a gift from the heavens it was easy to tell. It was love from above that could save me from hell.She had fire in her soul. It was easy to see how the devil himself could be pulled out of me.There were drums in the air as she started to dance, every soul in the room keeping time with their hands and we sang.

Concept: The bush's last and brightest blossom
Mask: Briar looks just like a young, dark-skinned woman, around 23 years old. She is usually dressed (admittedly, somewhat hippy-ishly) in a skirt and blouse and often wears the lightest of shoes, even in winter. She speaks briefly and is sometimes rather anti-social, reluctant to trust.
Mein: Briar has rich, dark earthy-brown skin, like the bark of a tree or bush, with a deep rosy-pink tint to it, especially her cheeks. Her skin feels soft, like rose petals and there might be faint aroma of flower blossoms from her hair, if you are in the right spot. Her hair is dark, long, and thick. Ivy, leaves, and blossoms are intertwined in it and fall down her back. When she grows agitated, angry, or upset, the ivy in her hair writhes and can turn into thorny vine branches. And Heaven only knows what those will do.

Known Information

Briar is the head garden designer at the Minnetrista Cultural Center; and her purview is mainly Oakhurst Gardens.
She spent at least part of her time in Arcadia as a rose bush.
She is extremely cynical and loves a good argument.
She tends to be happier and more upbeat during the Spring, naturally.
She has come into possession of a hedgebeast, curiously enough.

Background: She was beautiful. The most beautiful of these traveling tribes of ugly mortals that the Three had ever seen. And they had seen a lot of ugly mortals. They had to have her. They found her in the woods late at night, an ugly mortal boy of the same tribe with her. They were playing some game in the woods with those metal torches. It was easy to lure her away; they simply danced a light beam and on she came. Never knew what hit her, the poor thing. One wanted her to be beautiful, one wanted her to be graceful, the other wanted her to be forever, to never have to die. She murmured something about Sleeping Beauty in her dreams and it charmed them, that idea. So she became their briar rose.

The Three Fairies

When she escaped from Arcadia, Briar traveled around for a while. She's hinted at traveling with the Cirque de Lazar for a while, although how she got them to let her in can only be conjecture as she won't speak at length about it.

Briar has also mentioned, in moments of unusually active conversation (probably under the effects of goblin-fruit wine), that she moved for several months with the Trybe of the Ebony Rose, primarily a woman named Martiya, one of the three Systers. She doesn't really talk about what all she did in the Trybe or even how long she stayed. The most people know is that is a part of her past before she arrived in Muncie.

Rumors

Briar is the unreachable, untouchable 'princess' of the Spring Court
Briar personally provides all of the flowers and arrangements for Ellora's benefits, even in the dead of winter.
Briar has a special affinity with plants of all types, especially flowers. They say that she has never cut or pruned any plant since her return from Arcadia.
The Gentry has returned for Briar, luring her into the Hedge once already. Maybe next time, they will keep her.
I hear she's secretly in love that Winter Court Darkling, what's his name? Oh yeah, Duncan.
