Overview
Alias(es): Carin, Carin the Oak, Baron of Summer, Carin the Reaver; He's known to own several pubs, which are registered under Francis Davenport.
Real Name: Christopher Lancaster
Age: Appears to be in his late twenties.
Concept: The Kings Buccanneer
Entitlement: None he has yet to admit to.
Physical description: Tall, Carin walks with the easy confidence of someone who is used to dealing with strangers from a position of strength. Normally dressed in severe blacks and white, he wears red as either a waistcoat, sash, or shirt as his sole token of colour. He has been seen, although the rhyme or reason for it eludes the majority of onlookers,to be wearing a blue stripe of paint horizontally over his eyes as if warpaint. Normally caries a cane, presumably for aesthetic reasons. Charming, infallibly polite, he almost never uses names if he can possibly help it, calling people 'Precious', 'Dear', 'Old Chap', or 'Old Bean' with aplomb.

Character Information
Known History
Basic Timeline:
May 1977 - Born to Gillian Lancaster and no apparent father in the town of Macclesfield in Cheshire, Carin is raised believing strongly in both fairy tales, and in Britain. He grows to be one of those people who sees the world in strong, vibrant, colours, and believes in the basic nobility of Britain - educated on the tales of General Gordon of Khartoum, the war of 1812, Iron Mike Atheron, the Battle of Britain, he is fiercely patriotic, if somewhat idealistic.
June 1995 - Finishes King Edwards High School in Lytham with three A-Levels, and plans to enter Manchester University to study Law before joining the police force. During his year out (Serving as a voluntary constable), he tries to interfere with an attempted mugging. He is badly injured in the process, and hospitalised. Whilst so hospitalised, he is visited by his keeper, who offers to take him to a palace where fairy stories can come true, and the Knight gets to win. Carin accepts.
October 2000 -Carin loves his time in Arcadia - to him it is the paradise of a world that he always wanted. Over time, however, he is reminded of the world he left behind, and that whilst this world is wondrous... It isn't his world, and whilst he might be a dreamer, he wants his world to be perfect, not to run to someone else's. Having been treated as a retainer and knight for the years that passed, Carin finds the escape surprisingly easy - something to to this day is suspicious about. Returning to the world, he reviews it, and starts to plan for his future.
January 2001 - Catches his fetch in a pub over lunch. After an initial bad reaction the two of them start to talk. Carin makes completely plain the fact that he doesn't want his old life back, and that he's happy to let the Fetch have it - presuming that his mother is taken care of. In exchange his solicits his fetches assistance in establishing a new identity. From this point on the two make a habit of meeting at least twice a year to simply talk for half an hour, and reassure themselves that the other has no ill intentions.
2001-2007 - Gathers together a motley out of relatively recently escaped Lost, and establishes a number of public houses in England, most notably being the Scots Arms in Birmingham which is used by The Freehold of the Moonstones as their gathering point. Seeming to split his attention between London and Birmingham, Carin largely declines to travel much further, quite possibly due to his increasing regimented life as he focuses on dividing his understanding between the Fae and mundane worlds. Possibly as a side affect of this he starts to experience almost a dual personality - sometimes coming over normally as a charming individual, but prone to reversals where he can suddenly exhibit the temper and mannerisms of one of The Gentry.

Aria - If ever two people lived to annoy each other, it would have to be this pair. It's likely that they are genuinely fond of each other, but in the main they spend their time winding each other up, or trying to provoke a reaction.
Deyanira - Having mentored her into the Summer Court, Carin almost readily accepts she is more of a warrior than he is. He seems inordinately fond of her, but admittedly is remarkably fond of most people.
Aleksander Sokol - How exactly they know each other is a mystery - certainly they are nothing like each other in manners or temperament, but there seems to be an easy accord between the icy Lord of Summer in Scotland and the light hearted Baron.
Steampunk - While they might have only met each other in passing here or there, Steampunk has been heard loudly saying to Carin "I got your back, Mate. You ever need a second i'm -right- there"

Quotes
- "He's the most troublesome man I know. Troublesome, charming, difficult, idealistic, and he asks the most awkward questions imaginable. Why keep talking to him if it's that messed up? Perhaps because the perfect icing on the cake is having him still be around, because those awkward questions sometimes have to be asked. If you don't have a good answer for them, then maybe that's a hint you're not doing the right thing in the first place."- Aria
- "It is nice to meet someone who understands much of my sense of morality. While in some ways we may not have gotten off to the best start as he hurt someone I care for. I understand though that the heart does not let you choose and his love for Aria is both obvious and a beautiful thing to behold." - Graceful Aline
- "He taught me how to find the dance, and by being my teacher I came to be more at peace with what I have become. . Other than that, I'm sure he uses such fancy language around me just to see the blank look on my face." Deyanira
- "He's in charge, and that's the right way for it to be. He's my best friend in the whole world; I'd follow him anywhere." Good Doug
- "Bastard. Spends years putting me on the straight and narrow, then puts me in a situation where the only way I don't lose to him is if I'm completely immoral. It seems that being moral doesn't necessarily mean you're fair." - Cormac the Poet
- "Carin? Hmmm, I think I have five hundred quid here that I should really return to him..." - Bram, an honest soul
- "Sooner or later he is going to run out of room to keep all the criminals he is collecting and then he'll have to start making real choices." - Orpheus Bane
- "Carin. You gonna talk sense now or do I have to hit you again?" -Rea
- "He's a warrior. Heart, Mind, Soul. Just like me. Fight for what you beleive in and do it not because you should but because thats who you are. Solid as Diamond, twice as sharp. He ever needs my help, i'll be there for him before he even starts asking. I got his back." - Steampunk
Rumors
- Carin is rumoured to have resolved his crisis in Arcadia by deciding to try and call the Fae to Earth in numbers. People may look suspiciously at his motley for confirmation of this. Another theory is that he is a privateer, and paying for his freedom.
- Notable mainly in its absence, it is said Carin has yet to kill or drawn more than a line of blood from anyone since he returned.
- His (frequent) rambles against her aside, Carin is actually remarkably fond of Aria and would go to considerable effort to make certain she was safe. People saying this observe the two of them have known each other for over five years, and still voluntarily spend time near each other.
- He has explosive anger fits when his home or household are hurt or damaged. During these times his Motley have been know to decide that discretion is the better part, and simply avoid the room the storm is breaking out in.
- Rea is the member of the motley most likely to enter the storm area, and come out mostly whole. She never goes in without two flasks of hob-strength brew, though. And it's well known that she doesn't give a damn about herself, much.
- He has a marked fondness for storms, wind, and the sea, yet has chosen to live in landlocked areas.
