The City of Gulf Breeze
The City Core:
Also known as the Core, the City Proper, or even the Tourist Zone, Gulf Breeze proper is a marvel of beachfront tourist trappings at its most grandiose. There are condominiums in every conceivable style and in every available place. Between them, there are souvenir shops, beachwear shops, parasail rentals, ski-doo rentals, fishing boat rentals, or restaurants. There really is no where one can go in this area without being in one form of crowd or another; either you are in line to get into something, in line to get out of something, or are accosted by a busload of tourists arriving to check-in or to hit the local Denny's.
Crime, violence, gunshots, or screams are investigated immediately by police, both undercover as well as uniformed (bicycles and shorts). Local perpetrators are usually easily lost in the throngs of people that are constantly bustling in this area, but at least the tourists are assured that Something Will Be Done About It Soon.
Perpetrators that do not know the ins and outs of this maze are often caught, however, as they find a dead-end where one shouldn't be, or a concerned little old lady with a brick in her pocketbook.
Signature locations in this area:
- The 3-Mile Bridge. This bridge hosts two separate spans, six lanes, as well as two sets of railroad tracks for the Elevated trains that run between Pensacola and Gulf Breeze.
- The 3-Mile Bridge Fishing Pier. A popular place to fish, this is the remains of the original 3-mile bridge, since converted to serve as a fishing platform. To keep people from using this instead of the new (toll) bridge to cross into and out of Gulf Breeze, the middle section of bridge has been removed.
- The Pier. A long Tourist-Trap Strip Mall with places where one can go fishing.
- Pensacola Beach. Mid approval is required to have PC Investments, or to have altering affects to this area.
The Outskirts:
Also known as the Barrens, this area is low income and high crime. This is where those that serve the financial cow of Gulf Breeze tourism reside. Each serves in their own way, however; as you can find headquarters for many criminal elements here. This includes but is not limited to: prostitution, gambling, semi-legal repossession, drug manufacture and distribution, chop shops, weapon sales, and the occasional human slave market. Like The Core, it is hard to be truly hidden here; everyone watches out for those who are unfamiliar, threatening, dangerous. Often vigilante violence handles justice in these areas, are rarely do they ever find the body.
Signature locations in this area:
- The Seaman's Inn. A local tavern run by a local gentleman for local people. All others are not welcome unless accompanied by one who is.
- Vagrancy Housing Centers. Five locations scattered throughout the Barrens, a.k.a the VHC's. Two have been closed; but three remain open. They are centers of crime, drug use, and abuse.
The Outlands:
This area has many names, but is primarily the area that runs along Highway 98. The area right on the highway is highly developed, with many tourist traps, clubs, strip malls, etc; however any branches from this main artery immediately fall to rural scrubland on the inland side, and beachfront beautification, mansions, apartments, townhomes, and vacant (overpriced) lots on the Gulf side.

The Missing and The Dead
- Leoni, The Summer King - Last seen in June 2007, heading into The Core with a large following of his Court. Their mission was to finally roust The Corrupt and reclaim Gulf Breeze for the Changelings.
- Most of the Summer Court - Last Seen in June 2007, cheerfully following their King into The Core.
Places of Dream and Nightmare
- The Core - Those known as The Corrupt (a large group of loyalists and fetches loyal to the Fae) have taken up residence. In a Crusade-like quest, the Summer King and most of his Court had gone off to lay seige. They left in June, and have not been heard from since.
- The Inn of Lost Hope - an affiliate of The Innkeepers, it's a Hollow protected under Hospitality, where Lost can find a hot meal, a warm bed, and gentle understanding. The Innkeeper is Solstice.
Rumors and Inuendo
- Those Changelings that venture across the 3-Mile bridge into Pensacola are never heard from again.
- There's this place, where you can get a bite to eat and lick your wounds. But don't break Hospitality, or you might just live to regret it.
- There's a Stag, a BIG fellow too, that is ocassionally seen skulking on the fringes of Society. They say, that shortly after he is seen, some mortal is never seen again.
- Some say that the little freehold is protected by a powerful and fearsome Fae... but that's just hogwash. Otherwise, The Corrupt never could have gotten in. Right?
- Gulf Breeze is more than a tourist trap. It's a changeling trap! All of the local changelings are merely pawns in a larger Privateering operation. This is why The Summer King and his court went missing.
- The local changelings are to be doomed due to the lack of a true Summer King to usher in the ruler of Autumn.
