This week's feature article: Philanthropist Camilla Venery Graces DCXS with an interview!



LD: "Camilla, your resources, time, and energy go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Shriners, and you are a member of The Theosophical Dream Society Board of Advisors. What drew you to these organizations specifically with all the different charities in the world?"

C: She smiles graciously. "Well of course we'd all like to have infinite resources to help every single worthwhile charity out there. Medical charities offer so much return to the world for so little, and I've developed an excellent rapport with both the Foundation and the Shriners, so I'm always happy to share more with them. And the Dream Society, well... that almost explains itself, doesn't it? Their research is simply amazing. I highly recommend you look into it." Her smile turns knowing and she looks Lalita right in the eye.

LD: She smiles back at Camilla. "That I shall. So, What would be your supreme and favorite event to throw, beside your Fall Seasonal Extravaganza?"

C: She laughs gently. "Supreme? My, I wasn't aware my tastes were so rarefied!" She continues, "Honestly, other than the Fall events, each event I'm involved with has such a variety of great features I'm sure I couldn't choose just one."

LD: "When planning an event, which designers do you gravitate toward wearing?"

C: "Well it really depends on the kind of event. For most casual and semi-formal events, I'm perfectly happy just to shop off the rack." She gestures down to her outfit. "As you can see."

"For more formal events I tend to stick with designers that I've worked with in the past and who have a commitment to non-abusive production standards."

LD: "Everyone knows that you are a socialite and philanthropist, but tell our readers one thing unexpected about yourself."

C: Camilla grins, and her eyes dance mischievously. "I love apple-picking! It's actually the thing I look forward to the most about the fall. Nothing is better than crunching through the falling leaves and picking a ripe red apple right off the tree."

LD: "Namaste, Camilla, and I will be seeing you very soon."
