*** Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks.
*** Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.

History
Basic Timeline:
December 28, 1979 - Born in East Berlin
March 17, 1984 - A small article is published in Neues Deutschland, describing the superiority of the East Berlin school system to the West Berlin educational standard. Emil is touted as a member of a "Super Class" of students who are notably beyond the standard. The article is buried in the publication, behind news of the ongoing British Coal Strike and the kidnapping of the CIA's station chief in Beruit.
September 4, 1989 - Begins working at Charité as a resident while he studied Medicine at Humboldt Univeristy of Berlin. Although he was too young to operate on many patients, Emil did diagnose, medicate, and help with children.
April 2, 1992 - Emil and his family emigrate to West Berlin. Within a month, they emigrate to the United States.
September 1, 1992 - A loophole in a Child Labor Law allows Emil to practice medicine while enrolled at Johns Hopkins. He continues a study of dentistry, but still participates in a general practice.
August 28, 1993 - Emil begins studying Psychology at Georgetown.
May 5, 1996 - Emil begins work as a therapist. While his practice is notable by the media for about a week as "The Real Life Doogie," it eventually putters out after a year as clients are unable to deal with a child acting as psychologist. During this time, Emil begins watching Neil Patrick Harris re-runs.
July 14, 1998 - Dr. Zahne begins working at the Allegheny Department of Health.
February 2, 2000 - Dr. Zahne reopens his office to the public, accepting a limited number of patients.

Quotes
"We owe our existence to Dr. Zahne. Without him, we'd be ... too much like Them to be good at all." - Alice Black
""Things are different today. Someone has to keep these dreams from taking over...to tranquilize the mind." - Rook
"I know I'm not well. But if it wasn't for the doc, I'd be a whole lot worse." - Candlestick Jack
"I've worked with Dr. Zahne. I don't always agree with his methods, but he is the best there is for helping troubled Lost." -Dr. Remedy Carson
"There are some necessary "evils" in our society that we need in order to survive. When it comes to the body, that's my department and when it comes to the mind that's Zahne." -Ae Lament
"Too many of us fall without mercy into the Dream. Dr. Zahne is a miracle worker who can bring us back to waking, and to some small peace." - Althea Sexton
"When they took me, Doogie Howser was prime-time TV. When I came back, Doogie'd been replaced by some sort of wise-cracking bad-ass pod person. Doc's a little Column A, a little Column B. Still not sure of what to make of him, but he's annoyingly effective. Score that one as you like." - Jayde
"Tick, tock, tick, tock. Time's almost up. End of the session, now what have you learned? To never get caught, to never get burned? The Doctor is nice, the pills are so sweet, will they take away pain the next time we meet?" - Jack Sprat
"Dr. Zahne? Hmm..do I know a Dr. Zahne? Oh! Yes. I have heard of him. I hear he comes highly recommended. He apparently alleviates anxiety and puts smiles on the faces of people whom perhaps shouldn't sport such things. But I am glad that he has a practice. He really does a great service for society." ~ Parthena
"Sometimes the Doctor becomes the Patient, albeit only when he so allows. I normally hate his kind, but we found common ground together during that winter in Pittsburgh. Ground steeped in blood. Her death was a necessary part of his emergence into the life Fate has decreed for him. Make no mistake, that ground will bear fruit, even as other lives must end to feed it." - Jayde
"No, he doesn't molest his patients. At least, not the bad ones." - Candy
Rumors
Dr. Zahne LOVES apples.
The last time Jayde came to visit Doctor Emil Zahne, a young girl ended up dead and the good Doctor found his way into the Winter Court shortly thereafter.
