Known History -

Basic Timeline:

As a mortal Jack worked for a slaughterhouse in downtown Cincinnati both on the floor and as a bill collector. He was taken by his Keeper for his lack of emotion at the violence he meted out each and every day and his ability to track down clients that refused to make good on the credit extended by his employer.

Jack was to be used as the Master of the Grounds at his Keeper's estate. His responsibilities included granting safe passage to and from for other members of the Gentry and the hunting of those few Changelings who escaped the demesne of his mistress, the Lady of Burning Ice.

Near the end of his time on the wrong side of the Hedge Jack was sent to lure Catherine Wheel through an open Gateway as Catherine's distant relatives had entered into a Pledge with the Lady granting her rights to take the first born of each generation. A case of mistaken identity resulting in the kidnapping of Catherine's half sister and the loss of his Keeper's favor set Jack on the path back to the real world, but not before he found the real Catherine Wheel and delivered her to his mistress.

Current Activities:

Jack lives with his Motley in the Queen's City, Cincinnati. They elected to stay there after Catherine and Jack escaped from the Hedge and soon became very involved in the local Courts as there were few, if any, Lost who stayed in Cincinnati after their return from the lands of Faerie. Ever the stubborn mentor Jack decided the pair and their assorted friends and allies would remain in his home town, in effect shaking his fist in the face of the Gentry.

Themes:

Which is more dangerous? Red rage, or cold, calculated anger.

Associations -

Christian - Ever the loyal hound. The boy will take scraps when they're offered and course the prey I set him after. Fitting for a dog though should he ever try to bite the hand that feeds him he'll find himself buried under a ton of ice.

Uriel de Lenormand - Uriel... What can I say about Uriel. Ally? Yes. Confidant? On occasion. A friend? Perhaps, though not one I'd trust further than what I've most recently paid him for.

Catherine Wheel - Catherine... Sweet, gentle, naive Catherine. My greatest success, my most bitter failure.

Noman - What a pitiful little creature. What a useful little tool, with the proper leash.

Vanessa Paisley - Beauty, madness, and seduction all chained up in a perfect package. How lovely that mine is the hand that holds that chain.

Althea Sexton - Pending

Horace "Race" Ardent - Such a nice boy isn't he? Thinking he has any right to sit in judgment. When he's walked the path I've walked, and seen half of what I've seen on this side of the Hedge and the Other then perhaps the bastard can judge. Till then he best keep his distance. I wouldn't want anything... Bad to happen to him.

Thomas Grant - My bartender. Even someone like me needs an ear now and again and he so conveniently forgets everything he hears. Or at least he knows he should if he wants his arms to stay attached.

Virginia Wolfe - I will never understand Catherin's fascination with dumb animals like Christian... Thankfully Ms. Wolfe doesn't fall into that category.

Faith Thomas - I seem to collect bartenders... At least this one is easy on the eyes and has more sense that the one I normally deal with.

Antigony - An old friend, a lost love? Who the hell knows at this point. Most of my memories of her are the caress of an icy wind over to warm flesh and the need to find myself again amidst the storm.

Quotes -

"I remember very little of my time there... I remember the chase, the hunt, and the violent end my quarry were given to please those things in the shadows that hounded me. I only know that I came back different. I cannot remember what I lost. Nor do I care. I am more now than I was, and somehow less."

Rumors -

Jack rules his Motley with an iron fist, using Pledges and Contracts on each of them without thought to anything but his own goals.

Jack's Keeper harbors a hold over him that for him to speak of will mean his death, and the destruction of those he loves.

Near the end of his enslavement Jack was given over to the Gentry who compose the Wild Hunt and used by them as the storm that heralded their coming.

Jack once entered Christian's dreams and delivered a warning to leave Catherine be or Jack would introduce him to the fury of an ice storm.

Jack is beholden to Uriel de Lenormand for taking Christian off his hands and thus eliminating a potential problem with Jack's plans for Catherine.

Jack and Noman work directly together rarely, but do so with terrifying efficiency. The last thing a number of people have seen is the two of them waiting for them when they open their front door.
