Known History
Basic Timeline:
- 1951 - Born on November 20th.
- 1970 - Entered college studying Psychiatry.
- 1974 - Graduated college and began psychiatric practice
- 1974 - Taken to the Garden of Stolen Souls by one of the Harvesters to aid in healing the failing plants there. He had no skill in botany at the time.
- 2003 - Returned from Faerie by taking the place of one of the Harvesters and coming back to the real world to escape. (Subjective time was only 11 years for Artemis.)
- 2004
- June - While working at St. Luke's Hospital, Dr. Somnus was called for consultation by the Kansas City Police Department. There, he met Vicky Sage, who had been arrested. After discussions with her, she was released due to him telling the authorities that she was no threat to herself or others.
- June - A few Days after that meeting, a phone call prompted an unexpected road trip to Texas. There, he met with Gaea, subsequently clearing up a missunderstanding.
- 2005 - Opened the Somnus Sleep Disorder Clinic - He offers services to Lost for secure and anonymous gathering of Glamour.
- 2007
- August - With assistance from Abel Grimm, opens a branch office of the Somnus Sleep Disorder Clinic in Murfreesboro, TN.
- October - Attended the Fallen Fair with the lovely Vicky Sage as his date as seen here:
Current Activities:
Dr. Somnus is the owner/director of the Somnus Sleep Disorder Clinic. The clinic and it's branch offices specialize in helping those people with recurring nightmares and sleep disorders regain a normal productive life.

Rumors
- Dr Somnus actually harvests people's dreams (or nightmares) to enjoy later. He has a collection of "traded" dreams in his office safe.
- Dr Somnus isn't actually a real doctor. He got his degree from one of those online "life experience" colleges.
- It is whispered that the good Doctor's private garden bears fruits that grow only in dreams.
- There was a nasty lawsuit a year or so back. A female patient claimed that the doctor had taken inappropriate liberties with her while she was unconscious. The same woman ended up commited to an asylum about a week later, claiming the nightmares were trying to eat her. Without her testimony, the court case was dropped.
- Dr Somnus uses his sleep clinic as a cover to maintain a network of Fairie contacts, which he uses as a means to carry out the will of his true Masters.
- Is horribly scarred, hence his choice of attire
- Stalks women to kiss them with razorblades hidden in his mouth.
- Dr. Somnus is attempting to create a new system of Contracts revolving around inducing or preventing sleep and the madness that produces.
- Deep within the Autumn Court, there is a secret sect devoted to taking Fear to the ultimate level, as a weapon to kill. Each Samhain they hold a competition to see who can score the most 'points' in one night. Dr Somnus has won for the past five years, each time with a double digit score.
- Is tone deaf, hence how he can stand Vicky Sage's voice.
- Dr. Somnus is deathly allergic to man-made pesticides, and must keep to a strict macro-biotic, organic diet at all times.
- It is no secret that Dr Somnus is highly touched by the world of fae, but there are a few who claim to know his weakness. If the proper form of address is used, he is powerless to refuse a request.
- It is said that his Keeper waits in hiding, allowing Artemis to gather his allies, before one day the words will be whispered "Doctor Artemis Somnus, will you kindly bring them all to me?"
- All that he has seen, all that he has endured, has been fallout. Not from a monster, not from a True Fae, not even from a devil...but from an angel. This is the price for his fall from grace. Artemis tells everyone that he is a changeling...the truth is worse than most can scarcely imagine. Angels have no right to shed tears for themselves, fallen or otherwise.
- His examinations have a purpose beyond healing. He is trying to create an artificial consciousness based on the best samples of all changelings and humans...mostly humans. This will either represent mankind's capacity for goodness or the lowest depths of its evil.
