Ladies and Gents,

It is speedily approaching my 1st full year out of the Hedge, so to celebrate that and in line with the traditions of my Court I will be holding a Homecoming. It’ll be a light-hearted gathering on the banks of the Beauly Firth, in the garden of the most awesome Carlton Hotel in Redcastle.

I’ll be starting it early enough that we can watch the sun go down!

This isn’t going to be a party about dragging up the painful past, it’s an event to celebrate the bright future, second chances! I’m going to ask everyone going that if there’s someone there that they’ve had a problem with, that they find the courage in themselves to talk to that person about it and find some way of putting it behind you, or forgiving, or giving a second chance. I’m not asking the world, just a little give and take to celebrate the best opportunity I was ever given. Please? It’d mean a lot to me.

If not, there’s going to be music, dancing, food and more dancing!

It is private property that we’re renting so please be aware of that and don’t smash anything! I’ll have to pay for it and that means working nights again!

Every year, many Spring Courts hold a Homecoming. Some members of the Court (or other Courts) try to rename the party to something not used by academic institutions for their sporting events, but the attempts always fail. The name is too perfect. The Homecoming usually takes place on the date of the Spring monarch's escape from Faerie, but it is occasionally rescheduled to honor a particular changeling. Everyone is invited, and they are all expected to "let loose." Surprisingly, most of the guests actually do.
