Arthur Erikson
Arthur Erikson is a very intelligent, gentle person. However, like all good people, there is the flip side of the coin. Arthur's alter ego is a strange creature named Net Rat. Net Rat is an extremely powerful hacker, able to take on 5/3 Bank and the US Government and get away without a trace. Never to hurt, but for the challenge and the ability to learn, a variety of secure servers were broken into and left. However, this is where the dream ends, the fetch screws up. After the Gentry take the real Arthur, the fetch tries to do everything the original does, except it doesn't know how to break into a secure server, how to bypass firewalls, and reroute IP pings. This gets the hacker caught. In 2000, the FBI arrested Arthur in a raid. He was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison with the possibility of parole in 6. Having been denied parole 3 times, he's coming up on his 4th attempt.
Barbie Warburton
A 16 year old High School student in a private academy in New York City, Barbie is popular and intelligent. She's the perfect child for a single dad. But her Uncle sees her for what she really is: a corn husk doll without a face. Luckily, he's retarded, so no one even understands when he tries to warn them. Regardless of that, Barbie has her father wrapped around her little finger and could do no wrong anyway. She was totally convinced that Barbara would never come out of the hedge, and has completely taken over her life, sometimes forgetting that she really is only string and corn husk. She will do anything to make certain that it stays that way.
Bobby Eden
Just a boy of ten years, Bobby Eden is the perfect son. That wasn't always the case. Only five years ago, he was academically-challenged, socially-awkward disappointment to his affluent parents, Jack and Sarah. But one day, that just changed, and now Bobby's perfect behavior has brought harmony to a nearly broken home. Yet just three years ago, something may have changed in Bobby. Did he notice that old man, Mr. Hyacinth, watching from a distance, outside the Eden home, and in the park, and beyond the fence at school? Does Bobby remember the Tree Mother, the way that sad old man in the bushes does? Like the old man, does Bobby see into the future, or did the Tree Mother plant something truly unexpected in Brentwood, CA.
Dahlia Madison
Dahlia Madison was once before her life began a simple mirror coated mask, a single dahlia, and a black silk gown; An actress and a costume designer living outside of the Little 5 Points district of Atlanta. For the first few months of her stolen life she was an Actress in stage productions but as that short amount of time went on she thought it hollow, as if she wasn't really doing it. Dahlia then turned her attention more toward costume design and became quite skilled at it. It was then about two months after she started her job as a designer she felt the presence of the woman she had replaced, Dahlia Mask. Not wanting to end up dead, she faked her suicide by leaving a photograph and a note. Now with the belief that the real Dahlia thinks she's dead, She has changed her name to Desiree Masters and started a successful clothing line called "Mirrored Dahlias". She just hopes the real Dahlia doesn't figure out who she truly is.
The Delapore Family
The Appalachian's northernmost foothills hide many hidden things, which cling to the mountainsides like lichen and rot. Distinguished, old money families call this hill country home, escaping from modernity within the vast, antediluvian forests of New England. Herein they house their children, their elderly, their fortunes, and their most heinous secrets. The Delapores are one such clan, tucked away in some darkened valley where both distance and guard dogs discourage casual visitation. Originally of Scot-Irish blood, the Delapore fortune was carried to American shores during the earliest days of colonization. With that fortune, however, came its originating curse. The Delapores did not simply relocate to the New World from their highland castles and manorhouses on the moors; they were driven out. For, in exchange for enough wealth to feed their most gluttonous desires, the Delapores sold their own souls as fodder to Hell, through a Devil in the form of The Rats In The Walls. Every generation, the Delapores fed one of their own children to that Other... children who returned to the family, but changed. In return, they received good harvests, land, and treasure enough to placate even the most opulent appetite. When they somehow acquired more victims to send beyond the Walls, their riches always grew proportionally. And neither the Others nor their mortal servants were ever satisfied.
Eric Aldous
Eric Aldous is a well-known and respected young pediatric surgeon at the prestigious Children's hospital of Denver, CO. He's fairly handsome, with light brown hair and nimble fingers, but his busy professional life keeps him from socializing very much. He's very good with the children he meets at his job.
In the winter of 2006, Eric began suffering anxiety attacks - moments of disconnection, intense fear, the feeling that he was being watched and stalked. These feelings persisted for a week - at one point, he considered taking a leave from work, believing that the stress of his job might have been responsible. The feelings began to subside soon afterward, however, and Eric has nearly forgotten them. He has no clue how close Erik Ymir came to killing him and reclaiming the Changeling's lost life.
Holly Carver
The being known as Holly Carver was born a willow seed in Arcadia and is now a kindergarten teacher in Vinings, a middle-class suburb of Atlanta GA. She is a sweet-tempered woman, a dedicated and enthusiastic proponent of early childhood education. She is engaged to a delightful literature professor, and they look forward to the sounds of tiny feet pattering about the house they've just purchased. She doesn't remember that she isn't the child that nearly died of leukemia, or that the mother and father and twin sister of that child were never her own to love. There is something around the edges, though, a niggling little cry in the back of her mind that began the day she passed Holly Poppet during a field trip at a local museum. Sometimes she can almost feel on the east borne winds that a great and terrifying change is looming. If she ever remembers the truth wrought in her life by Baron Strega the Elder, one wonders just how hard she will fight to keep the life that isn't hers.
Justin Conway
The amalgam of old leather and Fae magic called Justin Conway destroyed the life he didn't even know he stole. A wrestling prodigy at Iowa State, Justin dealt with the loss of his family farm in a haze of alcohol and steroids. His athletic and academic career quickly melted away when a random drug test discovered his activity during his sophmore season. Almost fifteen years later, the paunchy sporting goods clerk has torn up half the bars in Iowa remembering his glory days. If ever he encounters Lee, will the creation have one more fight left in him against the former captive?
Jonathan Smith
Jonathan is an artist and architect for a New York Real Estate firm. He works very hard to put out a good product for his bosses, and he seems happy with his life. His art is very technical, if a bit uninspired. It still manages to sell in the jaded New York art scene, much to most people's surprise. He remembers being created by Lord Ashcroft, and he knows that it's just a matter of time before the master's lost assasin John Doe comes looking to try to take back the life that was taken from him. Jonathan's worried that he might not be able to defeat him, but he's terrified that The Bagman will hunt him down instead.
Jordan Kirkpatrick
Jordan is a featured dancer with a prominent modern dance company in Salt Lake City, and he has danced with several others in the area. He has gone on tour with them around the United States, and abroad, but he seems happy with his wife and children in Salt Lake City. He has a close-knit extended family, and is active in his LDS Church. But he occasionally worries that Cael Patrick will change his mind and want his life back, though Cael hasn't made any moves toward it in the past five years since he returned from his fifteen-year long durance...
Nathan Hayes
A Christian Psychologist and author of the best-selling autobiography Faces in the Mirror, Dr. Hayes treats patients with identity issues, homosexual tendencies, and other 'mental disorders' at his privately-funded treatment center in Northwest Georgia. Supposedly he has rehabilitated dozens and is quite well known in the Christian community for his efforts. Unknown to Nathan is that he is Hannah's Fetch, left behind by The Marquis of the Myriad Cast in Mockery when he stole her away from this world twenty years ago. Though he may not know the truth of his nature, or hers for that matter, Hannah's recent return has disrupted Dr. Hayes's life considerably and threatens to unravel his little world completely.
Peter Hoffman
Peter has managed to do what his predecessor could not; he has married and settled down in Edinburgh. He's still athletic, but has found the empathy that Hoffman of the Verdant Sanctuary lacked. He's happily married, a youth leader and coaches U-11's football, whilst managing a small sales team for an industrial plumbing company. He is a cautious man, content with his existence, and when he gets his promotion, he's going to tell Diana that he wants to have a child.
Stephen van Whittaker
Now an aging old Texas gentleman, who occasionally makes it to the bar to brag about his time overseas during World War II. He's a war hero, he tells them, showing them his various metals and badges, and getting somebody else each time to pick up his tab. Every time its a different bar, a different crowd, but its always the same sob story. He has a great story about Constance, the one who got away. How she died in child birth when he came back for her from "The War". People buy that sort of thing, lapping it up like a kitten with cream. Of course, most people aren't Stephen Daedalus, so they don't know the real truth. Apparently the two of them have reached some understanding, because he recently moved out of the van Whittaker Estate and into a much less expensive apartment.
Veronica Small
A small Round woman in her fifties, Veronica keeps working in her cubical at her dead end job. Soon, she tells herself she can retire and go back to living. She had forgotten that what she does is not living, she had worked so long, being what everyone wanted her to be, friends, parents, coworkers. Then one day she came up to the place where the employees go outside and smoke. Veronica almost choked on her Virgina slim as a ghost came up to her, maybe she was having a stroke, maybe her doctor was right. A face she had not seen in decades smiled at her, And asked how life had been, how mom and dad were, what she did for the company she worked for. At the end of her smoke break, Thanked her for her time, for taking care of mom and dad, and for not giving into the old women in red craze and then left. Veronica has not seen the person who now calls herself Vicky Sage since that one meeting, sometimes she when she thinks about it, she trys to remember how she got like this, and realizes she cannot remember never being this way.
