Physical description: Glain is a small woman (around 5 feet tall) with short blue hair... no matter who is looking at her. She is trim an in good physical shape. She has harsh features, and one would not call her beautiful, but she's definitely striking. Her skin is embedded with green and blue jewels, and is pale and shines brightly like a polished gem. Humans see her as a pale woman with blue hair and bright green eyes. Other changelings see a face and body that is a little too rough to be beautiful, all sharp angles. She smiles often, which makes her seem a little less harsh.
Other Information While she most often keeps her anger inside, she recognizes the value of letting it rise to the surface. She can be patient when she needs to be, and as hard or soft as the situation requires. She doesn't get pushed around, despite being a small, very shiny, usually unarmed woman. She understands the use of violence as a form of communication. The strong prevail, and little on earth is stronger than a jewel. She's not necessarily the best in a fight, but years of being around Kahss and Kesper and Kesper have taught her to hold her own. Of human emotion, she understands very little of it. She often comes off as slightly ditzy, but is actually quite intelligent. She just doesn't relate well to much outside of basic human emotions like anger, pain, desire, fear... more complex emotions in others leave her puzzled and unable to respond.
She tries, however, to be friendly and welcoming when she can. While often blunt and to the point (some finer points of etiquette escaping her) she generally means well. She genuinely cares about people, and tries to give those she meets any aid she can. However, she's also suspicious. While she might seem untrusting, it's just her way to make sure things are safe first. After all, she is bound to help the weak... and being prepared for things that may go wrong is half the battle.

Basic Timeline:
-1978: Judith Macfarrow (16) is taken by the Shining One, on her way to school.
-2001: The shiny jewel in a cage grows so angry with the constant pain around her that she creates a pact with pain itself, and those around her no longer feel it. The Shining One's many pets revolt and overthrow him, scattering to the wind. In the confusion, Glain's cage is opened, and she flees. She stumbles out of the hedge in Toronto, alone...
-2001-2007: The Cricketbane Legion is formed, with Glain as the anchor to keep the others from floating off into madness, or destroying what ought not to be destroyed... and from dying of various wounds they manage to acquire.
-2007: Glain unofficially opens a small clinic in the back room of the 3 cent copy store, specializing in Natural medicine and pain management, as well as edible healing products.
Background: Judith had been a pretty, outgoing and by all accounts, pleasant and happy girl. She was a talented actress and singer, and well liked by her family and friends. And then, the Shining One took her. Judith was shined and polished and shown off to friends and enemies. What a shining jewel she was, singing for her supper, a fine specimen encased in a hard beauty. While she was always a favourite to “The Shining One”, Judith heard the cries of pain from others who pleased this Fae less… though her performances also often were painful as well. But what ate into this jewel on display was the suffering of others. Hour after hour, day after day she heard the others in her Keeper’s presence scream in pain, while “the Shining One” delighted in their mistreatment. One day, she stood tall in her shining cage and willed the suffering to stop. Making a pact with pain itself, those who stand near Glain do not feel its affects.
