Name: Hael's Wyndstaff
Alias': The Big Boss, Stormrider
Age: Unknown
Entitlement: Three Harmonies Storm Society
Motley: Immortal Storm Triad
Society: Three Harmonies Guild
Court Goodwill: Spring 3

Mask: Hael's Wyndstaff seems to be a middle aged man, maybe late 30's early 40's. It's difficult to tell as his skin seems smooth despite the windburn. His movements are graceful and swift, his feet mere whisps of air that never truly touch the ground. His clothing is loose and tattered, beaten by the wind. During the Summer he is most often seen in his military attire, a long cheongsam, a straw hat and Summer banners.

Mein: Hael's Wyndstaff appears as a robust man, seemingly fluffy and full of air. His hand and feet are nothing more than swirling whisps of air occasionally sparkling with fire or electricity. His long hair generally floats around behind him if he's not wearing a hat which is always tied down lest it blow away.

Mantle: Hael's Wyndstaff has a warm dry breeze to him. When he approaches his warmth is felt, subtle red and orange embers whirling in a cyclone around him. When he moves his clothes ripple with the air, his hands push the air around with an accompanying "swoosh". (Like in a Kung Fu movie)

Personality: He knows he's not perfect, but he's out to prove that he's still more worthy a weapon than his Keeper gave him credit for being. He's very edgy, always looking for a fight, nothing serious, but enough for folks to vent. When his Hospitalty starts to run thin, he's always up for a throw down, just never in his place. He's respectful of the Seasonal Court even holding positions in his own right, and completely devoted to the protection of the changelings of Ann Arbor. Although it always seems as if he's pushing, forging and tempering other changelings to be stronger and to learn martial skills to defend themselves, he does recognize limits and rarely pushes others over them. He tries to keep a balance with the Seasons, and is always first to volunteer to see to the safety of the local Freehold community.

Hael's Wyndstaffs Nemesis Emblem

Personal Emblem: Hael's Wyndstaff uses his Motely Emblem of a Chien-lung Coin as his personal emblem, however his are made of soft jade. Many changeling have sworn upon his emblem, none have broken their Pledges to him.

Background

Dreams of Arcadia

There we stood; the champion Hael, and me, his weapon of choice; his wind staff. He was a legend, a warrior of unmatched skill, a gladiator in the great arenas of Arcadia. We had endured much together, many battles, many opponents. He had held me gracefully, an extension of his own form for longer than I can remember. He talked to me more than he did any other weapons. He said I had been forged of divine wind, shaped and crafted to perfection. Through his strength however I came to see the lie in this, for when he needed me most, as he faced another champion, another legendary warrior, I broke, scattered to the winds.

Hael’s strength that day outweighed his grace, mistakes were made, and we both suffered for it. Hael was no longer champion and my whole essence, my sense of being was destroyed. I was cast away by my champion, broken and worthless. He blamed me of course, for his failure. He blamed me for not being strong enough for him, for not being perfect. He made a vow that day to leave me broken. He would find another weapon, stronger than me to lead him back to glory. But I tell you, he has no weapons that can match me.

I had grown used to constant attention, fueled by his glory and prestige. Now alone, allowing the dust to settle as it were, I found something. It was a memory of failure. Though I’d never failed in anything before that fight, the memory was clear. There was a long thin line, a string attached to something else. It would soar in the sky, ducking and weaving as it pleased. It was deft and superb; it’s movements swift and calculating. But whatever it did, it wasn’t enough. The thin line broke, and something was lost.

The Green Ring

In 1999 he arrived in the city, carried by the wind itself. Though not very social at first, he gained recognition with the few members of the Freehold as he offered his services in protection. Before anyone knew it, he had amassed a good reputation and soon opened a private club within the Brunswick building where he offered his Hospitality to a select few.

There was some question at first as to the legitimacy of the place. Rumours flooded the city that he was harbouring criminals or that it was a "fight club". Likely because so many entered and came out looking worse for wear. Eventually it became known that it was a casino, though many still believe to this day that Wyndstaff has a secret "figt club" somewhere within and that he engages heavily in criminal activities with many a changeling.

Over the years his reputation has grown, especially with the advent of his Motley (Immortal Storm Triad), and the opening of his casino The Green Tael.
