Background:
Ilsadora was one of those rare individuals who are blessed with a truly idyllic life.
The youngest child of 3, Ilsadora grew up very close with he brothers and their parents. She was a good student all through her schooling, excelling at music. She was blessed with beauty and an exceptional singing voice, something which made her the envy of many a woman and the object of desire for many a man. She also had an upbeat and down to earth personality which made it easy to float through life without the overdeveloped ego many others with her gifts have.
In her high school years Ilsadora had a decent paying job as a waitress and worked as a folk singer in her spare time. During this time Ilsadora also met (____) and after dating for several years, they were engaged. All in all, life was perfect. All of this would of course change.
It was a family picnic, mid August. Everyone was there. Ilsadora and (____) escaped the noise and chaos by going for a walk in the nearby woods. They never suspected that it might be their last pure moment together, wandering cheerfully through the woods and chatting about plans they would never fulfill, and that’s when they heard it, the most beautiful music they had ever heard.
The pure notes of the music drowned out all reason, and they pursued it long past the point of no return. And thus, they were lured and caught.
Ilsadora, changed into a songbird by her Fae keeper and kept in a cage for her long stay in Arcadia. Forced to sing for her keeper’s entertainment, she was rewarded when her notes were clear and pure, harshly punished when they were not, and later, put away on a shelf to be forgotten when her keeper grew tired of her. Her only real comfort the few visits she could have with her beloved.
It was during this lapse in interest that (____) was able to find a way out of Arcadia. Gathering a small band of changelings, he conspired to rescue Ilsadora and escape with her and the others. Able to sneak in and remove Ilsadora from her cage and escape the palace and grounds, their plan seemed to be going very well, and then the howls began. They had been discovered.
In the chaos of the resulting chase, (_____) lost his grip on Ilsadora, or perhaps he passed her on to another of the changelings to carry. In either case, no one is exactly clear what happened, only that they were overrun and several did not make it out from the hedge.
The escape from Arcadia had a profound impact on Ilsadora. It is said that the moment her beloved was captured her form changed from that of a brilliantly colored songbird, to the stark white of a mourning dove. Ilsadora has also refused to sing since that day.
