Input needed: How does the Hedge work?
From Changeling Venue
We have been mulling this over in our local discussion groups and I have yet to hear definitive rulings on this.
Does the Hedge have a physical boundary that can be mapped to the real world? For example: Does the Hedge run along the north side of Clover St? If I am three blocks away, do I have to get to Clover St to enter the Hedge?
In the narrative about the Ling who jumps into the Hedge to escape a Darkling, through a car, he is described as then being able to looks back into the real world to his left but to his right is the oppressive hedge. He begins walking the border between reality and the Hedge to find an exit, and then eventually needs to make a choice with a diverging of 2 paths. What would happen if he started walking away from the Hedge once he had crossed over? There seems to be a boundary between the worlds, how big is that boundary? You spend a Glamour to enter the Hedge, if you walk away from it, do you get kicked out after a certain distance from the Hedge?
We in Tampa have a rich local history with pirates, as our city was attacked by them back in the day. Several people are interested in playing pirate themes and they want a pirate ship. I cannot say that there are open expanses of water once you cross into the Hedge. Is this Hedge an exradimensional overlay, like say Twilight, with a lot more restrictions?
Also, if my Hollow has Doors x3, can those entrances that lead to the real world appear in any part of the city, or do they have to appear in the same general geographical area? This goes back to my first question of whether the Hedge is physically mapped to the real world.
