Physical description: 6'2" in mask form, Jared tends to keep a healthy medium of a mein form, resting roughly 7'1" with a lanky build and an earth-toned tan. His hair is wavy and slicked back, having the consistency and color of Spanish moss, and his face always has a smile and a certain warmth akin to a Texas Autumn. Typical attire consists of a black sleeveless long coat with a frill of Maple leaves in full Autumn colors, white t-shirt, and jeans. Both his pants and the coat fade out to wood tones and texture of tree bark, seemingly dragging along the floor wherever he walks and practically melding into the ground like tree roots when standing still. Most are pretty certain he wears boots with spurs on despite never seeing his feet, considering there's a consistent clink noise wherever he walks.

Very few people have ever seen him in full mein form, and Jared himself doesn't exactly know what he really looks like, as he's only taken that stance when seriously angry, and after all, one doesn't exactly take time to look in a mirror while they are furious and on the warpath. The only description anyone has ever whispered of his full mein was, "like an angel of death in tree form," and indeed, given room to stretch out on occasion, he has been seen with a wing-like canopy of leaves and vines.

Known History

Basic Timeline: 1940: Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma
1947: Family moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, and starts a small ranch to raise horses
1951: Mother dies of cancer
1958: Graduates high school, enrolls in Texas A&M University
1960: Father passes away from a heart attack. Jared dropped out of college to take over the ranch, only to be led into the hedge by "strange lights." Once there, he is told in whispers that he his guilty of crimes against the fey. The last thing he recalls seeing is a shadowy Elven figure.

Time passes slowly, and Jared counts five seasons passing before he realizes his current state, that of a large Maple tree that towers over the rest of the forest. He spent most of the next five seasons wishing he could fly away like the birds that land on his branches and nest in his canopy, or walk off like the deer that traverse the path below him. Fifteen seasons later, he sees a young girl wandering the path below him, as if hiding from something. In a last ditch effort to try and remember what it was like to be human again, he mustered all his strength and found that he could move, slowly, but...well...slowly. In fact, it takes him a good year to undo the stiffness in his limbs and un-root himself in order to walk away. Five years later, he finds the exit to the hedge

2007: Exits the hedge, only to find a mall in place of what was his farm. A small group of Changelings on patrol of the hedge give him the quick rundown of what exactly happened to him, what he was going to be now, and how to live in the real world.
2008: Moves to Orlando with what little funds he managed to scrounge up from side jobs. On the way there, he finds a young changeling fresh out of the hedge and running scared in her cat-like glory up his branches. She refers to herself as Pookie, and mentions that a gathering for the changing of seasons is taking place at a freehold nearby. Once there, he's quickly embraced into the House of Cards as a valued member of Changeling society.

Jared is currently the Autumn Ace, adviser and confidant to the monarch, Edria Meredith. His decision for joining the Autumn Court comes in the sense that, while most has feared what they became and where they came from, his "upbringing" left him no exposure to either Gentry or Arcadia. He feels that, by understanding this state if fear, he can better help those like him to return to some state of humanity and normalcy; after all "we all were human once, who's to say we can't be again, give or take a few neat tricks?" He is most well known for his thick Texan drawl and simplistic but humorous and highly relevant anecdotes, as well as an all-around "horse sense."

Current Activities: When not working at the UCF plant nursery as a consultant and botanist, Jared acts as the keeper of the Autumn Hollow, and spends his spare time trying to restore some form of order and cleanliness to the now overrun sanctuary. On occasion, he is also called on to tend to Edria's horses, seeing as how their hedge-granted carnivorous nature tends to them wanting to eat anyone that isn't plant-like in being.
