Description
Bloody gobits of flesh hang from his bare skull as if the salt winds flayed his skin away. Captain Red sails his ship The Bloodstar in search of ships to raid and plunder. Although he sails all the seven seas, his preferred grounds are the waters of the Barbary Coast and the Caribbean where he competes with The Dutchman for captured ships.
Captain Red attacks his prey without remorse, the corpses of the dead used as material for the fetches of those taken. The fetches are then tossed into the wreckage and left to sink or swim. Prisoners are separated, those able bodied are made part of the crew, those not are thrown into the holds, plunder to be sold in the Goblin Markets. Life on the sea is rough, and life on the Arcadian seas rougher. Captain Red is a harsh task master driving his crew to adapt, die or be used up and sold.
The Ship
A ship at sea is it's own world, and it's captain is lord, master and god of that world. And so it is with Captain Red and the Bloodstar. He strikes at his targets in Arcadia and beyond at whim, navigating the "Reef" with unearthly skill. Captain Red doesn't stay in 1 Realm per se, he sails the Realms of those whom he has built Compacts and Letters of Marque with, allowing him to plunder many shores in Arcadia and the "real world" as well. Time flows strangely on board the Bloodstar, passing at times as swiftly as a hurricane wind or slowing to a near stop of the doldrums. The crew of the Bloodstar soon fall into place, adapting to their new life in strange new ways. From the Water-Dweller and Waterborn "Marines" to the Wizened boatswains every crewman is useful or they are Market Bait.
