Character Information

Known History

Basic Timeline: In 1940, at the age of 16, Mac lied about his age to enlist in the US Army during World War II. He was assigned to the European theater where he discovered that, amidst the chaos and destruction of the war, life went on. His travels exposed him to the different cultures of Europe and instilled in him a love of history, food, and drink. Kyle went missing in action in 1942. He resurfaced in 1945, after spending four years in Arcadia where his Keepers had pressed him into service preparing ever more fanciful meals for their never-ending revels. Mac was horrified to discover that "Kyle Martin" had been rescued from a German prison camp in the middle of 1943. He assumed the identity of a British soldier whose ID he found in a shallow grave and ultimately returned to America, making his way from his home in Newark, NJ to Chicago, Illinois, where he used his Royal Army pension to buy an interest in a bar in Chicago's North Side. Mac lived an adventurer's life for decades, leading expeditions into the Hedge to battle privateers, loyalists, and stranger beings. After he retired from active questing, Mac participated in the politics of Chicago's Lost society for several stressful years until he found his true calling. Mac bought out his partners in the bar and spent years with his motley carving out a Hollow in the Hedge and a gateway from the back room of his establishment. Mac declared the whole place to fall within the tradition of Hospitality and set about to help all Changelings make lives for themselves upon their escape from the Durance.

Current Activities: Mac spends most of his time at his bar, eponymously dubbed MacFinn's. He maintains the tradition of Hospitality and holds his door open for local and visiting Lost. He advises younger changelings and continuously cultivates a network of allies in immigration law firms, social services agencies, and medical examiners' offices, all of which enable him to help other changelings get a new start upon their escape from Arcadia.

Merit Details: Potential merits include Allies (Immigration Lawyers), Allies (Chicago Medical Examiner), Allies (Cook County Social Services), Hollow (MacFinn's Tavern, and Mantle (Spring Court).
