Mask: Persephone appears to be a young woman of maybe about twenty with dark brown hair that is almost black. Her eyes are an almost unnaturally blue color but instead they are just described as striking. Her skin is pale and perfectly smooth and she has a small speckling of freckles across her nose and cheeks which gives her an innocent air.

Mien: With hair so black that one would swear it shines deep blue in the right light, Persephone is more than just a striking beauty. Her skin is ivory and glows slightly as if she swallowed moonlight and her eyes are a deep violet color. Persephone's ears are slightly pointed and occasionally peek through her long locks. As far as her age goes she appears to be anywhere between 15 and 30 but always looks at the height of youth and loveliness. She is unquestionably beautiful, but it is terrible and dangerous.

Background:

Persephone was born Jacqueline Rosemonde in 1930 in France. She was completely devoted to her twin sister, their mother having died in birth, but out shone her in many ways, particularly in the art of dance. Jacqueline was a prodigy, showing a mature sense of grace and balance when she was only a small child. When she and her sister were only 10 France surrendered to Germany and Italy and the two young girls found themselves in the midst of a war that was beyond their comprehension. Her father encouraged her to continue dancing telling her that if she stopped then they would be letting the Germans win. She danced and those who watched her whispered quietly about a stirring of hope. Her family survived the war and she continued to perform but one winter night in 1945 after a show she and her sister were playing backstage. Stumbling into a curtain they became tangled and found themselves on the other side of the hedge.

The Faerie that had ensnared them treated them kindly at first. They were groomed and fed, dressed in fine clothing and maintained by servants. They soon began lessons in the etiquette of Arcadia as well as how to move and speak with eloquence. It didn't take long for Jacqueline to realize that their time in Faerie would not be all wine and roses. She and her sister were separated, both serving as different pieces in their Keepers collection. The little girl Jacqueline thrived as an ornament. Night after night she was sent out to entertain visiting Gentry, like the Geisha's of Japan or the Courtesans of Venice. Some nights she was even sent to the bed chambers.

Jacqueline's sister served as a symbol of light in the mural. Though it changed she was always there, as the sun or a light in a lamp post. Despite their efforts to be everything their Keeper asked them to be, they were never good enough. They were beaten and made to watch each other be beaten. It was the worst, having to watch and it was why their Keeper always beat them in pairs. But Jacqueline's sister received the worst of the punishments. But they had each other, and her sister had Julien and somehow they managed to remain gentle and kind. Jacqueline watched as her twin slowly broke under the harsh rule of their Keeper, but one night she was killed by the cruel hand of her Keeper. At that, she was changed forever. Jacqueline's light faded and she became hard and cruel, watching the Gentry closely learning them, for though they were majestic and beautiful they were not perfect.

She heard of Julien's escape from her Keeper as she beat whatever information she had out of her. She did not scream or cry or even speak, she just waited. He returned for her, unable to reconcile himself with the idea that he had let her sister die. On the other side of the hedge Jacqueline found herself changed. She was like Persephone who had been to the bowels of hell forever altered by her experiences. She adopted the name and no other. Julien became her sworn protector. She now runs a fetish club in Auburn, Alabama working as a professional dominatrix, but she cannot shake her time in Arcadia. She still takes contracts with those changlings who have managed to make or find themselves among the elite, she serves as companion, escort and sometimes lover.

Keeper: The Collector of Pain and Rarities was said to be one of the harshest Keepers in Arcadia and Persephone rarely speaks of her and when she does it is with a quiet deadly hiss. She was a Fae known for her collection of the unique and exotic. While in Arcadia Persephone served as the crown jewel in her keepers collection. She played servant to visiting Gentry so that they could get a taste of her beauty and grace. Persephone was often beaten for no wrong except that she was not fae and never would be. She was often sent out to those who seemed to take interest in her presence and often found herself at the mercy of their cruelties as well.

Fetch: Persephone does not seem to care for her fetch and tends to avoid the topic. She has changed so drastically that she no longer holds any claim on her former life. Those that do manage to get her to talk of it find that it is not the idea of her own fetch that bothers her. The thought of a creature wearing her sisters face, even if it is an older version, upsets her unspeakably.

Julien: He follows her almost like a shadow and she often times treats him as such. He is her oathsworn protector but beyond that their relationship seems strained.
