Description
Her kindness only served to highlight her cruelty. Lady Violet de LaGlace takes immense pleasure in aesthetics, choosing her servants and pets for their beauty. However, unlike human concepts of beauty, Lady Violet looks for those who would be beautiful in pain, revel in misery, and shine most brightly when beaten and forced to serve. She wants more than anything to have control over the still burning resentment of others, taking almost sexual pleasure in knowing that she can do or say what she wants to Changeling and other Gentry alike and get away with it, especially when she knows they hate her for it.
Lady Violet is known for her social skills. She always knows how to deal with any crowd or group of people. Her timing and speech are always perfectly executed, and she is as adept at working a crowd as inspiring any emotion of her choosing in an individual. She travels extensively, usually bringing her favorite servants and pets with her, and is known for her extravagant parties and clever, exotic entertainments.
In private she treasures her pets, but it is clear that she lacks the ability to show any sort of genuine emotion toward them. She enjoys all forms of torture and cruelty, taking a literally inhuman delight in watching her pets descend into greater depths of pain and madness. Those under her direct "care" often learn very quickly that it can always get worse. And for one reason or another, they love her for it.
Pain, suffering, humiliation. These are the things that Changelings kept by Lady Violet have learned. And in some cases, it has become such an important part of their soul that they no longer know how to live without them.
