Part 3: Description of Venue
Like every city, Salt Lake always tries to put its best face forward. It offers a family oriented community, with the hub of religious values. Salt Lake has friendly schools and a strong arts community. The Salt Lake Valley may seem like an ideal place to settle down. All you have to do is look past the glitz and glamour of what all the media puts out about it, and you'll see how the city ranks as one of the top kidnap cities in the United States. Not to mention that it is a major hub on the Meth trafficking highway across the southwest. It is here outside of the happiness of the normal family that the lives of the local changelings exist. It is here where they mix and mingle with the riffraff and unsavory characters that the good families point at and tell their kids to avoid.
What will players be doing in the venue?
In this not so happy valley, characters will be working on continuing
to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. Sometimes trading
those pieces with others and finding out that they never can be quiet
whole again. Now that they're world has been changed, they will work
on figuring out what is fact and what is fiction and what is just
products of their imaginations.
What role do Motleys play in your venue?
Motleys serve as an emphasis to the individuals purpose within the
story lines.
Will you be using a hub or central location for players to gather for
games?
As with all the local venues, there will be a place where all
Changelings know of that they can go to, to meet other Changelings.
This will be a place to relax, socialize, and share information. This
will also be a convenient place where plot can just happen to wander
through the door. The theme of the Changeling hangout will be a biker bar.
Part 4: Storytelling Mechanics
Detail any of that apply to the venue:
· Special venue emphasis (rare)
At least once per season, there will be a large gathering for the
changing of the courts. This will vary from place to place (depending
on who is hosting the changing of Courts).
· Proxy rules
All proxies, into or out of the area, require at least 48 hours
notice; with one week being preferred. All proxies will be hard. The
VST reserves the right to deny any proxies that do not have a good
justification for inclusion in the game. Proxies into the area must
include a copy of the characters sheet with approval numbers,
experience logs, and home VST contact information. If role-playing
guidelines are not included the VST has the right to run the character
as he or she sees fit. Proxies out of the area must include complete
justification of the proxy and the VST contact information for their
destination. The character as it appears on the database is the only
version that will be approved for outgoing proxy. While the character
is in proxy, any changes of locale will be treated as /new/ proxies.
EXAMPLE: If your character is proxied to Chicago and goes from there
to Tampa, it needs to be resubmitted as a new proxy with all rules and
restrictions applicable.
· Travel risks
Travel in the World of Darkness is not without risks, but the risks
are specific to each separate game session and the travel methods
used. See the VST before each game concerning this.
· Visiting characters guidelines
A signed copy of your character sheet and experience log is required
before play. The VST requires your home VST's contact information, for
verification purposes. All mid level and higher approvals must have
database numbers. Unless your country of origin does not provide mid
approvals numbers, then high approvals and higher must have database
numbers.
· Experience award guidelines
3 for showing up, 1 for costume, and 1 for vote.
For downtime actions you can earn up to 2 per report (or IRC scenes). But you can not earn more then 6 in this fashion.
. Player knowledge
Changeling are rather new to the valley. There hasn't been any signs of Changeling or other True Fae before 1985. Salt Lake's Changeling are never to shy to flaunt it. The come from all walks of life, but most particularly, the more shady sides. There are plenty of Lost friendly places to hang out or gather at. Coming from all parts of the social ladder, Changeling's have a wider variety of places to hold their gatherings at or hold other business's at. The local Trod is set in a beautiful picturesque park. Shelters by thick trees and fed by a small creek that runs through the heart of it.
