Overview
Founded early in the Twenty-first Century by Master Antonius, the LLDF's goal is to protect the lives of Lost everywhere when situations go beyond their control and beyond the influence or power of the Motleys and Freeholds. The LLDF is a coalition of Changelings who are knowledgeable of and have allies within the areas of Law and Order. Lawyers, police officers, social workers and other Changelings who have, since their return, have been working in the public interest OR have influence over the affairs of the justice system.
The goal of the LLDF is to offer advice (at least) and defense (whenever possible) to those who find themselves on the wrong side of the mortal authorities. Whether a fae has been taken into custody for crimes committed by their fetch, implicated by demented mortal who has seen too much for a crime they did not commit or dealing with their city's plans to re-zone a neighborhood in a way that will destroy the charm of a fae's inn, and with it a freehold's source of glamour, the LLDF will do its best to advise and, when possible, protect all who would be harmed.
However, the LLDF reserves the right to deny assistance to those who have done wrong and caused damage to the world at large. Sociopaths, serial-killers and pleasure seekers caught one too many times with their hand in the cookie jar. Those who would take advantage of the LLDF's good will and generosity could find the same network that would help turned against them.
Structure
The LLDF works with an especially loose structure, especially in comparison to other orders and organizations. Think of the LLDF as a network of contacts, contributing to the goal of keeping Lost free of legal/bureaucratic entanglements through the wielding of allies, contacts and their own myriad skills.
Members may know each other by name and reputation only, could have worked together loosely (discussion over phone/internet) collaborating on a case or to advise one of the lost, may have worked hand in hand with other members in the defense of the fae or have taken bonds formed in the above situation to further friendship and partnership.
For Prospective Associates
Those who wish to help need only contact Master Antonius, the public face of the group. There is no minimum amount of skill/influence required to join. The only requirement is the will and ability to help.
For Prospective Clients
Antonius keeps his channels of communication open at all times. He will review requests on a case by case basis and direct members of the LLDF to the cause of those who ask for assistance.
