- Taxes and Tariffs

    o Membership tax: 1 guild unit (g.u.) per month one is in the Freehold
    o All monetary transactions go through the Bank (run by Brink)
    o 1% tax on all physical goods
    o 2% tax on all other exchanges

- The Masses ask: What are these taxes used for?

    o Wardens’ salaries, maintaining Trods, etc
    o Quarterly tax rebates come to members automatically

- It is decided to create the position of Lord High Marshal

    o Combination of mortal Postmaster, FBI, and IRS
    o Gather delinquent taxes
    o Civil services
    o Applications being accepted now

- It is decided to create the position of Lord High Forester

    o Combination of police and neighborhood watch
    o Maintains the Trods
    o Promotes the upholding of “Guild Standards”
    o It is suggested by the Rapids (Q2) that offenders be punished with the Hedge

- The Masses remind the Rivers that an arbitrary action such as punishing Guild Members with the Hedge is too painfully reminiscent of the Old Kingdom. (This is of course absolutely untrue).
- The Masses would like longer and more frequent bathroom breaks.

    o It is decided that there will be a ten minute break each hour, with a twenty minute break every two hours.

- It is decided that the Waterfall’s feline may take the position of Voice of the Throng if it wishes; any “sentient, vocal creature” may be the Voice.

    o It is decided the cat must pay taxes if it wishes to be a full Guild Member
