Concept: A young woman trying to make a life in a new world

Mina is a small, quite feminine looking woman. Her lavender hair is long and straight, and seems to have a life of its own. Her eyes are wide and a very dark blue. Mina's facial features are slightly angular, but very striking, and her skin has a constant rosey glow. Her ears are long and pointed. She tends to wear dresses that are light and flowy and are pale flowery colors.
Mask
Mina's mask looks very similar to her true appearance, but for a few differences. Her hair is just as long and shiny, but is a honey blonde. Her facial features are softened just a little, and her ears are not pointed. In both her Mask and Mein, Mina has the heavy scent of Honeysuckle floating in the air around her.
Mantle: Spring-2
Mina's Mantle manifests as distraction to those around her. People find themselves feeling idle thoughts of fancy whenever she walks past. When she smiles, there's a feeling of the warm spring sun on the face of whomever earned her attentions.
Character Information
Mina is a slightly troubled girl, however she may hide it. She gets confused whenever she thinks about her past, but she'll almost always laugh it off. She's somewhat nieve, but then, she never really learned when not to trust. Quite good natured and high spirited; she is quick to frown upon harsh emotions, prefering peace and calm, even when it is appropriate for someone to feel angry. She's a flirtatious person, assuming her coy smiles and laughter are always welcome, and never really understanding when they're not. Usually quite a joy to be around, this is because she likes to make other people happy.
Known History
Basic Timeline:
- 1933-Born in Twin Falls, Idaho. The next year, her father looses his business.
- 1937- Mina's mother dies of consumption. Her ilness was very sudden, lasting only a few days before it caused her death. Throughout the next five years, Mina's 3 sisters and one of her brothers die of illness or in very violent accidents.
- 1942- Mina's last surviving brother goes off to war. He is killed four months later.
- 1945- Mina meets The Glanconer and goes into Arcadia to live with him. She is replaced by a fetch. She spends the next five years of her life with him. She serves as his pet, his seamstress and his lover.
- She is then traded to a hunter in a Contract.
- When she runs away to go back to her master, she meets another Changeling in the Hedge, who offers to help her find her way home.
- They wander in the Hedge for a week or so, before they find themselves in the Green Belt in Boise, Idaho. The year is now 2006
- 2006- Mina moves into a shelter for battered women, not attempteing to correct the belief that she escaped from a childhood in a cult.
- Shortly after Mina arrives back on this side of the Hedge, her fetch dies of natural causes in a nursing home. Mina never even knew she had existed.
- Mina vows to help the women and children who come to the Women's Shelter.
- 2007- In a dream, Mina finds her little garden in the Hedge. She builds herself a one room cottage there.
- Mina meets Hapless Jack in a strange encounter at the college. He reveals the presence of other Changelings in Boise.
Current Activities: Mina is currently living at the women's home and working a job on the phones during the day. She still enjoys sewing, and has recently bought a sewing machine and learned how to use it. At night she travels into the dreams of the women she lives with, helping them survive their tragedys with dream therapy. Woe to any who trespass on her charges, she does not look kindly on those who would abuse others.

A Faery Story
Once upon a time there was a young man. This young man was in love with a princess, and she loved him. But they were not allowed to marry because the young man was very poor, and her father forbid it. One day, the young man decided to make a name for himself, so that her father would let them marry. so he set off into the world to find his fortune.
Once on the road, he found a little old wise man. He was looking quite hungry, so the young man stopped to share a meal with him. "what brings you so far away from home?" the old wise man asked as they ate. So the young man told him about the princess, and why he had to make a name for himself. The old wise man pulled the young man close, " if you continue down this road, you'll come to a fork. Take the way to the left, and when you get to the lake look in your pocket. There you will find your fortune."
The young man thanked him and went on his way. when he got to the fork in the road, he turned left. When he got to the lake, he found a mine full of gold and gems. He checked his lwft pocket and found a deed that told him he owned it all.
The young man rushed home, and on visiting his bank found out he was rich. He bought a house of his own, and new clothes, and a car. then he went to the princesses father to ask him to change his mind. They were allowed to be married.
For many years the couple was very happy. They lived in their big, beautiful house and began to have several children. One year, a little girl was born. She was a very beautiful child, the most beautiful of their children. The young man imediately loved her best. Not too long after she learned to walk, the old wise man came back. The young man was in the garden with the little girl when he came. " You owe me a favor for helping you," the old wise man said. " Yes, I do," agreed the young man. " I owe you my happiness, and for that I'll give you all the money you could want." The wise old man shook his head. "It isn't money that I want. You owe me something much more... I want the child sitting at your feet."
The young man grabbed the little girl and ran into the house. The old wise man laughed and shouted," For your ungratefulness, you will loose everything you gained from me. One by one everything you love will disapear!"
And the next year, the young man lost his fortune. a lot of people lost their fortunes that year... But maybe it wasn't a coincidence... Not very long after, the princess died. The doctors said it was consumption, but they had never seen it kill in two days before... Very abnormal.
one by one, oldest to youngest, the other children died, until only the little girl remained. The young man, who was no longer young, had lost everything the Wise old man had given him. But he still had beaten the old wise man, because he still had his youngest daughter, the apple of his eye, the light of his life. And she grew up quite beautifully, and was still with him when he died, holding his hand.
I wonder what he would have thought, had he ever learned that his daughter wasn't the same little girl at all?
