Miracle Milly
From Changeling Venue
The Basics
Seeming: Fairest
Kith: Bright One
Court: Spring
Motley The Bridge Club
Freehold: New-New Amsterdam
Titles: Sovereign of Spring (66-98)
Mask: Milly's Mask changed over her rule to reflect the aging woman's progression. In her youth, she was young and vibrant, looking much like the fresh-faced young woman of the 60's. As time progressed, she became more stooped, her pale blond hair became silver and smooth, creamy skin lined with a thousand smiles. Her eyes were a pale green, bright and kind.
Mein: Though the light around her may have dimmed in her Mask, it never did in her Mein. Truly a Bight One, she shone with perpetual beauty, light streaming from her. Her blond, then silver hair glowed almost painfully bright, her skin had a nearly reflective quality and her pale green eyes seemed to reflect your desires right back to you.
History
Milly emerged from the Hedge in the same place she entered - Omaha, Nebraska. Finding her life had left her, she grabbed ahold of the opportunity and moved to New York City. The 60's were in full swing and Milly swang with them. The music, love and excitement swept her right in. Her involvement in the Court was minimal, spartan, until the Spring Chamberlain, Rambling Rose. She explained that she had received a vision that Milly, the footloose girl who was barely a woman, would be Queen when the Monarch died. With a strength that Milly couldn't believe, Rose took her back to the aged King to begin preparing her as the Scion of Spring.
It took Milly a long time to accept her responsibility. There was so much to see and experience, the thought of being a Queen was restricting and stuffy. Death was a far off thing, surely the King would live to let her enjoy her youth. But barely had Spring of 1966 blossomed when the circlet was laid upon her glorious hair by the new Chamberlain, Molly Moonglow.
Eventually, Miracle Milly learned to balance her rule with her enjoyment of life. It helped to have Chamberlain who was also young, and the two women were often seen enjoying the other three seasons with abandon, though there was a certain reserve about their actions during their own ruling season. They opened M&M Flowers in Greenwich Village in 1970, taking over the building that had been a place for Spring to gather for a century. But time did was it will, and the beautiful young Monarch aged into a wise, regal Queen, strong from the weight of the crown. In 1997, a young, restless Fairest named Erised was named Scion of Spring. Much as Milly, the young man didn't have a lot of time to prepare for his duties, and was thrust to the throne when, bowed with age and riddled with cancer, Miracle Milly's light quietly turned off in Spring of 1998.
