Cold, Sadistic and Menacing.

These words could be used to describe Mr. Wednesday, if they weren't just so inadequate to describe this unpleasant individual who shows contempt equally for all of his kith and kin.

It's no surprise, then, that this Cyclopedian is only seen regularly associating with the other, simmilarly unpleasant individual : Obediah Yule

Known History

What the average person knows:

Wednesday has been living in Toronto since 1987, working a series of jobs within various subcultures of Toronto; He was a DJ at the Lizard Lounge and the Boom Boom Room, and even ran a short lived bar at the corner of Queen and Bathurst. His street presence slowly faded through the 90s as he began working more and more private functions.

Those with a streetwise of 3 and higher will know that Wednesday aquired the property that became Betty's Tea House from squatters in that area, often fighting and maiming to retain ownership of the small block of buildings.

In the subculture of Changelings, Wednesday has always been an independant and almost invisible. The strife that occured in Toronto through the mid 90s didn't touch him directly, as he prefered to keep the company of people such as Obediah Yule and Frontpage.

The fact that Wednesday has begun becoming active in society within the past year is worrysome to some.

Current Activities:

Mister Wednesday has apparently taken a keen interest in one other Lost in Toronto, and has taken Larka as a student. He has been shown to be zelously protective of her, citing the responsibility as a member of the Court of Wrath to properly teach those who join the court.

He has also claimed his territory soverign within Toronto, making Cabbagetown his protectorate alone. If there are other Lost who live within this territory, apparently some sort of consession has been made with them, and he has included them within his protectorate.

The actual story behind Mister Wednesday:

This information is not known to any PC living at this time, and is here for the sake of tie-ins and Storyteller Information. Please use this knowledge sparingly and for dramatic effect

Douglas McCreedy was born in London England in 1940, in the middle of the blitz, surrounded by terror and the flames of a ruined city. His mother, too ill to be moved from the hospital when the bombing began, died as a result complications in his birth, and his father died on the beaches of Normandy, unaware of the existance of his son.

As war orphan he was moved to Canada, and Douglas moved from home to home, the foster care ranging from good to abusive. His striking looks, which slowly formed as he reached adolescence, ended up attracting the amorous attentions of one of his “fathers”, and forced the boy to flee the security of a home into the streets of Montreal where he panhandled, stole and sold his body to survive.

Douglas McCreedy was taken one night, at the age of 17, by a keeper looking to teach supplicants about the “true” pleasures of the flesh. The Mistress of Chains, a particularly vile Fae, dragged McCreedy into the Hedge and beyond by the barbed chains of her namesake and subjected him to all forms of pain.

He recalls little of his Arcadian experience save for the a solid wave of bone-racking pain, and coying mental torments involving the love of those around him. He has a sence of when he was truly broken, however, for it was when all sences twisted upon himself. He'd been given so much pain in such quantities that, when he was subjected to pleasure, the feeling was excruciating, and it was throught he subtle use of pleasure – and the inversion of that feeling, that his Mistress was able to control him.

The rest was a blur. Lanced skin, pierced by barbs, lit by a blood-red moon in a starless sky. The smell of the prey he was bade to fetch. A fear that, should the pain end, he might end as well. Pleasure was oblivion.

It all ended swiftly one night. One night he was beneath the blood moon, and the next he was released back onto the streets of Montreal, with partial memories, a taste for violence, and the secent of something he was sent to look for.

The year was 1985, and much had changed around him, although the taste for flesh remained. Gathering himself slowly, and living in hostels and half-way-houses, Douglas got his life back (such as it was). He'd completely lost the ability to truly enjoy pleasure, but he quickly found others who also had the same sensibilities as him.

Gathering some money, he moved to Toronto to start a new life, reinventing himself as Mr Wednesday-- a play on the nursery rhyme that stated “Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe”. He also enjoyed the symbology behind the Norse myth of Odin (who is the day's namesake), who gave his eye in the search for wisdom.

Enemies

Mistress of Chains and her minions. One of the more prolific keepers, the Mistress used to be a small god of the Sea, to whom aincent peoples used to give offerings to return their loved ones from fishing excursions. Time has twisted this once benevolent creature, making her a covetous and pernicious being who is obsessed with the taking and keeping of mortal souls within the depths of her demense.

She is often seen as a beautiful woman dressed in flowing white, suspended in dark water, her hands reaching out towards her prey.
