The Basics

Alias(es): Maya (pronounced My-yah)

Real Name: Unknown

Age: 70 actual, 25 apparent

Entitlement: None yet.

Mask Physical description: Maya seems to give other mortals the impression of one fallen out of time, specifically, the 1950's. She is commonly seen in long skirts and frilly blouses, and she always wears a "witch's" hat with a veil to cover her face. Her style of dress often causes strangers to offer their assistance with crossing a street, usually followed by the name "Granny" as a term of endearment and respect. Mousy brown hair bound in a tight braid tumbles down to her mid-back.

Mien Physical description: Myrror's Mien is much more glamorous than her Mask, turning whatever skirts and blouses she wears into something elegant. Her hat seems to be made of pure ice, the cone of it looking to be a spiraling ice sickle. Snowflakes fall from the brim and seem to collect together, forming the veil that covers her face. Her skin has a slight reflective, silver tint to it.

Once Upon A Time...

Rosemary Eve Francis was born on January 20th, 1937 to parents Maggie and Nathan Francis in the Albany Medical Center of Albany, New York. The young couple had only been married a year before the birth of Rosemary, their first child. Maggie worked in a nearby seamstress shop, while Nathan worked in a local bank. Being as young as they were, the plight of World War II came to their doorstep in 1940 with the Draft. At the age of 23, Nathan was plucked from his home by the long-reaching arm of the War.

One year later, on December 7th 1941 Nathan Francis was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sympathetic to the widowed mother, the bank where Nathan had worked took her on to succeed her husband and be able to support her growing child.

With all the love and support a single mother in the ‘40’s could provide, Rosemary flourished. Not only did she inherit her mother’s beauty, but she obtained her father’s thirst for knowledge as well. She quickly worked her way to the head of her class in every school year, and during the first few years of High School in the early ‘50’s, she was elected cheerleading captain and Homecoming Queen.

She was widely seen as the “All-American Girl,” the girl that every mother wanted her son to marry. She actively contributed to the community, even putting the seamstress skills learned from her mother to use to help mend the clothes of the homeless and the clothes of the local orphanage.

Always so busy with her studies and volunteer work, Rosemary had never spent more time than necessary grooming herself or thought of herself as an exceptional beauty – contrary to the belief of her male classmates.

These Days

A year or so after her return from the Hedge, Myrror owns and operates a tiny vintage apparal store, many of which the garments are of her own crafting. To mortals, especially young teenage girls, her store is merely a novelty to find trendy new clothes - since the old has become the new in fashion as of late. To other Lost in the area, however, she runs a seperate service and is the Crossroads' leading Hedgespun tailor.
