New York, New York
Most human beings are driven to seek security and comfort. But there is another group that can only thrive on change and the unexpected of New York.

Court Structure
The City of New-New Amsterdam follows a Cyclical Court structure based upon the seasons as set by the Solstices and Equinox. Each Sovereign shall rule for their own season, nothing more and nothing less; and each shall in turn serve as Advisor and Counsel to their fellow Sovereigns during their respective reigns.
As per the talents and skills of each Seasonal Court; a total of four Officers will be appointed in service to the City by the Sovereign of their Court for a year and a day. Each will serve the City above all others, before Court, before Sovereign.
These Officers will as a group be hence forth known as the Perennial Sentinels.
The Winter Inquisitor will be the one who hunts the shadows for loyalists, privateers, fetches, and gentry. A spy for catching spies. The vigilant watcher. The endless questioner.
The Apothecary of Spring shall coordinate healing and counseling needs for the city, and oversee the reintroduction of newly Returned Lost to their new world. The head gardener. The bearer of warmth and the strengthener of new growth.
The Summer Marshall will serve the martial needs of the city, coordinating defenses and battles as needed, and assist the court of the city in apprehending criminals. The wise warrior. The long arm of the law.
The Sorcerer of Autumn will be responsible for protecting the city in image, keeping the awareness and fears of Lost in the hearts of mundane mortals from becoming dangerous, and in lending magical support to defend the court of NYC as needed. The master illusionist. The withering glance.

Court Information
Traditionally, each Court held a different borough in the Freehold. Some hold those to this day, others have let their commitment to those areas fade with time and the passing of previous generations. The traditional protectorates are listed with each Court. The Courtless, left without official territory, usually gathered on Staten Island, the only borough not claimed by a Court.
