Introduction
Clutching a bundle tightly to her chest, the cloaked women runs through the darkness and pouring rain towards the glowing light surrounding the house on the hill. The warmth and safety calls to her as she flees. A stout, buxom woman opens the door and shoos the young visitor into the house's lit warmth. A new blanket is presented to her, while her wet clothing is removed, and she is quietly shown to a room of her own. A fresh bottle is provided for the child at her breast, and a warm cup of tea for herself. No questions are asked this night, merely the hospitality of those that understand.

New Beginnings is a safe house located on the west side of Fort Worth, Texas for those women and children that are victims to domestic violence. We provide quality crisis intervention, shelter, medical assistance and counseling services to domestic violence victims and their children and accredited treatment services for those who choose to abuse.
New Beginnings will assist in connecting comprehensive advocacy services to our visitors and follow up and transitional resources and support.
New Beginnings also provides domestic violence education and prevention; raising the awareness of the seriousness and devastating effects of family abuse and violence; promote women’s strengths, competencies and abilities.

Behind the scenes, New Beginnings is also a safe haven for Changelings, both newly escaped from Arcadia and those seeking refuge from the world at large for a few moments in time. Many of our programs serve dual purposes for both mortal women and children and those of our kind that might benefit from the service. New Beginnings offers all sorts of services that the newly escaped Changeling might need in order to reintegrate themselves into the mortal realm. And above all, New Beginnings is focused on protecting its visitors from those that wish to abuse them.
Theme
New Beginnings is centered around providing safety for its charges, both within its walls and beyond once they are capable of moving on. It accomplishes this through several methods. First, it offers a comforting and inviting space through which they can sink into and forget, at least for a time, about the troubles that they fled from. Second, it works to step between the abuser and the abused, keeping them apart through what means are necessary. Third, New Beginnings offers medial medical support, transferring visitors when necessary to ensure proper health. Fourth, counseling and educational services are provided, as well as reintegration services to ensure future safety and growth.
Services
- Housing: New Beginnings offers temporary housing for those fleeing from abusing lives. There are abundant rooms within the house, with a large kitchen and common areas. The goal of New Beginnings is to help calm its visitors, and then help them move on with their life in a much safer manner.
- Medical: As many visitors come in beaten and battered, New Beginnings offers some medial medical services, nearly anything shy of surgical matters. Anything beyond their measures, they make sure to transfer to the local hospital.
- Legal: In attempts to secure a better future for the victims that grace New Beginnings' walls, we offer help in obtaining legal representation for a wide variety of needs, but particularly divorces and family law.
- Placement: It is New Beginnings main goal to eventually encourage its charges to begin their life again in a safer, new environment that will keep them safe from abuse. With that in mind, there are many services in place to help the victims find new places to live or new places to move on to.
- New Identity: In the case that no other methods work, New Beginnings does have some contacts in creating new Identities for the abused that cannot escape their past.
- Financial: General financial assistance is available. This is usually in terms of a loan, which can be paid back to the lenders either with money or services. We try to get our visitors on their own two feet as soon as they are ready, and with this program we are somewhat able to assist them.
- Adjustment and Adaptation: Classes and assistance on adjusting to the world and learning how to function on their own (and with a mortal cover). Classes range from domestic violence education and prevention, to raising awareness about domestic violence, to promoting women and children's strengths and abilities. Also, classes specifically for Changelings are offered to help reintegrate them into society.
- Food: The Inn offers regular meals and snacks for its visitors while they remain within the house.

- Member of The Innkeepers - The Innkeepers Guild is a global organization of Inns and safehouses that have made a pledge to care for and protect those who stay under their roofs. While every Inn is as different as the Changeling who runs it, each follows a code of hospitality to those in need. Wherever a traveler goes, they can be reasonably assured that nearby is a member of the Innkeepers Guild.
