WW Teaser
Newly posted on the WW website, this is a slightly different quote from the one above, but reveals a little more about the game. Quote by Ethan Skemp, lead developer for the system, the brain behind Kithbook: Nockers and Noblese Oblige: The Book of Houses, among other books.

"Changeling is a game of beauty and cruelty, of passion and loss, of dreams and madness. You have struggled your way back through the thorns only to find your life had been stolen from you. Now you make your way the best you can, attempting to piece together the fragments of your lost life or to forge a new one, chasing your ambition through the intrigues of the changeling courts and freeholds, and always looking over your shoulder lest the Others, the true Fae, return for you."

New Ling Intro
"(The new) Changeling is a game of beauty and cruelty, passion and loss, innocence and madness. You have found your way back through the thorns, only to find your life has been stolen from you. Reclaim it, or weave your way through the intrigues of the faerie courts and freeholds. But look over your shoulder, as the Others are coming to try and take you back." "You can't wait for the muse. You have to chain that bitch to the desk."
I just had to write that one down verbatim. Anyway, here's what I gleaned:
World of Darkness: Reliquary
Jess is developing this one. It will contain magic items not specific to any game line. She was very excited about the people working on it.
Changeling: the Lost
The reading was a two page bit from the book about the myths of creatures in the darkness who are the source of kidnapper legends and cautionary tales. Such tales turn these creatures into enforcers of societal mores and social hierarchies, but they also note that not only the wicked are taken or punished. This is because the fae have been with us for ages, preying on humanity. People vanish and return with no idea of where they've been, sometimes after centuries, and sometimes to find an imposter in their place.
Spoilers should start soon, now that Scion is out.
A quick-start guide will be available at FLGS on Free RPG Day (http://www.freerpgday.com/) on June 23.
You play humans abducted by the fae who have escaped and returned to the world. The core challenge is what to do now that you've returned to the world after your life was ripped away from you.
The fae in this game are the monstrous beings that haunt the shadows in every culture. They have preyed upon humanity for ages. They are completely alien in mindset. There are no plans to make them playable.
It is a good assumption that the 5x5 splat pattern will hold, as in all previous games.
The game is very flexible in terms of what you can play and the theme. She has played in a game reminiscent of Changeling: the Dreaming, one reminiscent of Dark Ages Fae, and a modern game set in the NYC club scene.
Strong ties between western European fae and the spirit courts of asian mythologies show a strong preference for hierarchical systems.
Her influences included: Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Wendy Poeny, Elfquest, Charles de Lint, Emma Bull, and Ginger Snaps.
There will be built-in conflicts both within Changeling society as well as with external forces. It was noted they have more societal structure than in Promethean.
She said she couldn't think of a character concept that wasn't doable with the game as written.
The game is much less specific to European fae myths than Changeling: the Dreaming, closer to Dark Ages: Fae.
She isn't aware of any plans for an official LARP adaption.
The core focus doesn't include setting stories in Arcadia or playing True Fae. Changelings were enslaved and often tortured by their captors and have no desire to return.
There are strong story hooks in the imposters and how the Changelings interact with them.
It was hinted that, as is the trend in the new World of Darkness, there are less mystical effects to maintain supernatural secrecy. It is up to the creatures and groups within them to enforce it.
Fear of being recaptured influences them a lot. When asked if this is just a background element or if there are tangible story elements, she replied, "I like to build scary things with real teeth."
The leaked Seeming splat was noted with Elemental as one type. It was also noted that it was confirmed that Arcadia is the same in this game and Mage.
It was hinted that there would be no separate Changeling "realm", like the Dreaming in the old game.
Anyway, that's all I have from my notes. _________________ Eric Christian Berg
