The Armor Court; the Stupa; the Court of Constants

Heraldry:
Colors: Black and White
Symbols:

  • The Black Tortoise, i.e., Xuan Wu (China), Genbu (Japan), Hyeon-mu (Korea)
  • Stupa (Buddhist mound or storehouse said to initially store the Buddha's ashes)
  • pieces of old Chinese or Japanese armor (commonly old Shang Dynasty formed of turtle shells bound with cords)
  • black turtle fetishes

Beliefs:

  • "Suffering is good. It is constant."
  • Denying one's demons gives one their power.
  • Attachment should be eschewed.
  • North courtiers are often ascetics.

Earmarks/Observations from outside the Court:

  • Denying one's demons apparently pisses them off, because North courtiers are frequently bruised and scarred.
  • North courtiers are apparently not just "not living", but might actually be dead. They often smell of dust and ashes.
  • North courtiers are tougher than they look.
