The History
Athens is rich in history and tradition, and the Lost Freehold in Athens has existed in one form or another for as long as any living Changeling can remember.
For the last five or six generations a building has passed from hand to hand, changeling to changeling. It's been a hotel, a hospital (during war time), appartments, but right now it's a shelter for the homeless, run by Chrysanthos Xanthopoulos ... or just Chris ... a Flowering Fairest of the Winter court.
Chrys inherited operation of the place when Thekla, a Draconic of the Spring court, died just recently. Thekla was said to have come into the positon after an Ogre of the Autumn Court who ran it was taken back to Arcadia ... and so the history runs back, into shades of memory.
Whatever the past, the Hellenic Philanthropic Society, Athens Branch, has supported the Occasional Respite in all its forms. Today, it's part halfway house, part shelter for the homeless. As always, it's the Communal Hollow of the Freehold. It's not flash, not the best, nor the most well provisioned, but to many it's home in time of need, and a place to gather.
Location
The Occasional Respite is located in downtown Athens. It's a large multi-story building of modest appearance that looks like it was built in the early 1870s. Faux Greek colums adorn the entrance way, and the stone work appears to have once been quite detailed. Situated in a back street only a short walk from Omonia Square, it's well located to public transport.
Facilities
Ground Floor
The Respite has a large and comfortable common room, where a wandering Lost can come in and rest, share a cup of coffee or tea, have a meal and chat with their fellows. Also, the manager's offices, the large communal kitchen, public bathrooms, a communal dining room, and the usual store rooms and such.
The food here, unless you cook it yourself, is simple fare, but it's hot when you're cold, and nourishing when you're hungry, and always served with a smile.
Those Lost in Athens who wish to meet and chat may do so in #Occasional-Respite on the DarkMyst IRC network. Please make sure your proxy is lodged and accepted with our VST before doing so.

First Floor
Here are some meeting rooms, and a large ballroom, with balconies that overlook the city. This is a hangover from days when the building was a high class hotel, and the room isn't used much anymore.
Second Floor
Guest suites for those needing shelter. Most are twin share, with communal bathrooms, but there are a few 'self contained' single bedroom apartments available for the long term guests.
Third Floor
Much the same as the Second floor.
Fourth Floor
As per Second floor.
Roof
Accessible from the Fourth floor, the roof is still Thekla's showpiece. Up here, the remnants of her gardens remain, despite the cold of winter. Potted plants and trees abound, and there's a small fountain beneath a pagola, with seating for maybe a dozen people to gather and enjoy the air.
Basement
Off limits to all but the staff of the premises, it's a place where steam boilers churn and pipes rattle and odd noises can be heard when the wind is still.
