Once Upon A Time (Background)
Concept:
I started musing about him as a Squire to a Fae Huntsman, who went after Runners trying to escape back through the Hedge. After reading how the PCs were "kept as slaves or pets", I re-thought it some and postulated "What if he were the Hound instead of the Dog Handler?" And so the basic concept morphed into "What if a Ranger/Warder/Hunter type was used by the Others to track down, capture and kill those trying to escape their Gentry?" Equally, it posed the eventual question of "What happens when the Hunter becomes the Hunted?"
Instead of using his skills and training as he once did for his Masters' satisfaction, he employs these means to aid those he would have formerly hunted. He makes no apologies for what he did while he was in Arcadia. All of them did what had to be done to survive another day ... or to simply make each day a bit less harsh.
"We either learn from our pasts or are doomed to continue to repeat it. Live and learn, for tomorrow is another day" is the way that he sees it.
