Merit Details:

Luring the Hound: It started simply enough, a little girl in the slums of London. Telling stories, and living in a place of her own creation. A bit different, a bit keener, a bit wilder; she moved through the dank back alleys and cramped streets of a city that had long ago lost it's magic.

Age thirteen brought a young girl onto the brink of being a woman. Still wild, still dodging through streets like a hound on the trailing scent of prey. A bright white flash, the scent of fur and warmth. The scent of promise. Distracting and tantalizing, luring the little human hound to the hunt of something brighter and more beautiful then the rain soaked, overwhelming toxicity of the city. A push through a hedged barrier and a stumble onto the Other Side.

A bright laugh, a flash of eyes blue as the summer sky, and a smile that froze.

Little Penny cross is tagged and bagged by the Fae known most commonly as The Dragoon. The Lord of Blackthorn Wood held a keen interest in the girl who when she was thrown at his feet simply looked confused, not scared. He had her taken to his Kennels and installed as Mistress and Keeper of the Hounds. Her job to train, breed, punish and hunt his hounds. Both Human and Fae Hounds.

So began her tenure.

The Huntress is Born: The Kennels were a nightmare of feral wolves, hounds, hyenas, and sundry other mosterous creatures.

It was separated, barricaded, and under heavy guard. The wolves were each in their own cage, the heavy bars holding them there. The standard wolf-like canine in arcadia differing greatly from the humans who had been forced into the role. One caught her eyes. Beautiful, arrogant, and angry. Snarling instead of becoming fearful as it's new Keeper passed it's cage. It is this she was put into. And it was here her gentle voice and firm hand excelled. It was here she made some of her closest allies, and fiercest enemies. Treating all equally gentle, and just as equally firm. She took his famous kennels and made them Renowned.

Aspects of a Dream

  • Anti Hero: Quinn "Happy Funball" - The bane of my existance, and one of the reasons I was shoved across the hedge in the first place. Quinn was my opposite. I hunted, he freed. I infiltrated and gathered information, I laughed and smiled, I seduced and killed. I built them up in confidence and brought them down in defeat. And Quinn...always there, always the Savior, so unwilling to be the object of Hope and Faith. My hunts grew boring after he crossed.
  • Hero: Race - Every story needs a Hero. Even if the Hero interupts a good pub brawl and dumps you in a rain barrel. Or gets between you and your mark. Fucking Heros.
  • Villian:
  • Angel: Tuck "Thorn" Cross - He's my brother. He doesn't know. And I don't know that I can tell him. How do you explain you hunted your own family, your hand forced by the Dragoon. He hates me. As well he should. But I watch. I always will.
  • Devil: Derek Cole. He always appears in the most unlikley of places. A whisper in my ear, like the wind caressing my skin, and equally as quickly, is gone.
  • A Curse: Have you ever been saddled with someone you didn't want to be saddled with? That's Pyre. He's a migraine, but in the end, all elementals are. He's my pennance for every bad thing I've ever done, or been party to. I used to hate him, but he grows on you...much like a fungus.
  • Big Bad Wolf: Orion's not a bad sort. And we work well together. After all, what is one wolf to another? A brother in Arms.
  • Trickster: Molly-O. "Springtime you know is ring time, come dear now don't be slow.....Change your name, go out with game..."
  • A Beginning: I remember when I was lured across the Hedge. I was 13, and a very whimsical child. I escaped into worlds of my own making to escape the poor, dull drudging existance that was the life of a poor child on the streets of London. The hart was big, blindingly white and stunning in it's beauty. I fumbled across a hedgerow, and emerged in an entirely different world....She changed after we entered that strange dream. Raven dark hair and moon pale skin. A smile that could launch a thousand ships, and she was gone.
  • An Ending: Seraphim(Erised) took me under wing, brought me strength in my time of need, and helped cage the monster within. Were not for him, I would not have survived long after my crossing.

IC Quotes

  • "This bitch, no pun intended...she used to keep the Dragoon's hounds for him. She trained things to help the sonofabitch hunt me, and then became one. I pray to God she never crosses my path again. I don't know if I can ever forgive her." - Thorn
  • "There is no collar to hold me, now." - Nujalik
  • "You have not fully understood love and devotion unless she calls you friend. You have not yet fully understood woe or fear until she has called you foe." - Seraphim
  • "I wanna like Penny, I do. She's tormented by demons I can't even pretend to understand, regardless of my own. I can only pray for her really, and leave her with the knowledge that if she loses herself to her demons... they won't outlive her for long." - Horace "Race" Ardent
  • Damnit Penny! Stop picking up strays! - Quinn
  • Stay out of the kitchen, don't sleep in the oregano and if I catch you in that root cellar one more time... - Molly Moonglow
  • Oh, right, her...I guess you could say I ran into Penny last summer in some dive bar in Port Sutton...or, more accurately, my face ran into her fist a few times in the course of polite conversation. Ha ha ha! No, no, I didn't really mind...I found her in the middle of a massive bar fight, and was pretty surprised to see it was a Changeling I didn't know that had started it all...well, at least until she broke my nose, that got me unsurprised quick. Anyway, after I broke some of her ribs and she kicked me in face a few more times, we got to talking and found out we had a lot in common. I invited her to come hang out any time she felt like, and she laughed, called me a pussy, and chucked a beer bottle at my head before stealing some guy's car and driving off. I thought I was in love until I realized she'd picked my pocket, too. But really, what relationship is perfect? - Dzxoxian Brokehorn
  • "She is no wolf." - Nujalik
