The Talon Prince's Reign

His golden eyes burn into your mind, igniting a beatial instinct within your heart that spurs to life and tears its way to the surface. His eyes shift, a deep golden cats eye, to a dark, almost black insect eye, back to the hazy gold tinted eye of a reptile. Your mind becomes awash with new sensations, the need to hunt, the need to feed, then the pain. Terrible pain, in places you didn't know could hurt. The Prince's very will shaping you to his desire. Animal forms grow from your once human body until they fit perfectly on your new form. Collared, you are beaten into submission, ordered to do the work of the Hedonist Prince. You know only obedience and fear, fear that you may have to look into his Gold eyes again, fear that if you fail you would end up as another piece of the Robes he wore. So many before you ended up there...

Possible Ties

This Gentry is a great choice for almost any Beast concept. Broadbacks could easily have been his beasts of burden, Hunterhearts for his Hunts and keeping other slaves in line, Runnerswifts to take messages to other Gentry or patrol his Manse, Skitterskulks and Venombites that lurked in the dark corners of his Manse protecting it from intruders and taking away the dead bodies, Swimmerskins to serve him in his vast pools and baths, and Windwings to serve as messangers, spys, and vigilant guards for the Hunt.

As well, if this Gentry intrigues you and you're not a Beast, feel free to get creative! Bright One Fairest could have been used to light the Hunts at night or to act as spotlights over the Manse, or Flowering to keep his Manse smelling intoxicating. Ogres could have done work on the Manse just as easily as Broadbacks, though the Prince preferred his Beasts. He may have used Darklings to keep an eye on the Beasts from the shadows or use an Antiquarian to keep track of his massive slave population. Elementals could easily have worked to keep his Manse warm, keep his pools flowing, and the breezes steady.

Escaped Vermin of the Prince

Aaron - His most prized slave, Aaron was the powerful taskmaster over the other enslaved Beasts. Collared and beaten, Aaron was forced to keep the rest of the slaves in line, or else he didn't eat, and neither did they. If the slaves were out of line, he put them back in, using fang and talon if necessary. If a slave escaped he tracked them down and brought them clawing back, for their own good as well as his own.

Rue - Kept as one of his lookouts and aerial hunters, she spent a lot of her time in the sky. The memories of a golden harness haunt her with the phantom sensations of constriction and burning around her torso; sending her into panic attacks. It was used to pull her down from the sky when her time was done, or to control her for displays of flying acrobatics for entertainment. She spent equal time as a full hippogryph or an anthropomorphic version when put on display.

Leopold DeSouza - Another lion Hunterheart, Leopold was kept as a last resort. Whenever someone escaped, it was Aaron would go bring them back. If the Prince didn't want them back, Leopold was sent out to make sure that they did not survive.

Night Silk - A venombite kept in the shadowed corners where the changelings were thrown after the Prince of Talons was done with them. Night Silk was tasked with returning the injured to their jobs, and disposing of the dead. She took her job seriously, and offered what solace she could to the injured while away from the Prince's eyes. Other times, she would end a changeling's suffering by injecting her poison, and then disposing of the new-dead body. Her time was spent more and more, though, in handling those slaves that could not live through the attentions, as the Prince sought to undue the caring she offered.

Lilium - sold

Loveless - Pending

Tume de Soto - A prized runnerswift, a sleek cheetah that he tasked with delivering his messages and invitations. She returned because he would keep the threat of torturing others over her head. Beaten for being too slow, she was eventually sold to the stockyards.
