History

Once Trevor was a normal 18 year old blowing his summer between high school and college. He had a normal life, had normal friends, and had a normal job as a courier for the local district court. He was good at his job, even though anyone could do it, no one could really do it as well as he could. He was unobtrusive, perceptive, and smart enough to know when he walked in on something he shouldn’t hear. He doesn’t really remember why an Other chose him as a slave or even what month it was when he was taken.

His Fae master, a scheming paranoid spider, gave him the same task he had in the human world, carrying messages. At first he did exactly what he done on the other side and return to his master to be put back in his dark, colorless closet under the stairs. But over time he started to realize that he could learn a great deal by keeping out of sight if he walked in on something big. He started to perfect his skills at stealth, sometimes even eluding True Fae, and eventually became prized by his master as a tool to spy on rival Fae. Trevor’s skill allowed his Master to learn the secrets of his fellows, allowing him to rise up some incomprehensible social hierarchy.

Trevor’s skill was not perfect though. One rival Fae learned of the espionage and deliberately feed him false information. Trevor then passed that on to his master, whom upon realizing he had been duped suspected Trevor of betrarying him. His master resolved to kill him, but Trevor used all his talent and will to sneak away from his prison.

Slowly he found his way to the Hedge, but he was lost and confused about what to do next. By shear chance she stumbled a group changelings in the thorns, they too were fleeing back to the human world. Trevor stalked them for some time as they drew closer to the familiar feeling for human existence. It was by blind luck that one of the party members discovered Trevor while taking a bathroom break, Etienne, he was a Fairest who spoke English with a heavy French accent. Etienne agreed to keep Trevor’s secret if he would come with him to the real world.

Eventually Etienne and his group reached the end of the Hedge and went their separate ways. True to his word, Trevor stayed with Etienne and they crossed over into Downtown Paris, France. Trevor had gone in an 18 year old messenger and had emerged a 21 year old shadow.

Etienne was Trevor’s only guide to life in Paris, but eventually he managed to learn much French. The two young men lived a somewhat communal live in various hostels and halfway houses. Trevor would steal food and other goods to keep them both fed and Etienne would deal with the locals to use them to the pair’s advantage. Another thing that Trevor learned from Etienne was the sport of Parkour, the skill for which he was taken by the Fae. Both men would practice with the local traceur groups around the city. Trevor eventually started to apply this skill to his talent with stealth, making him an even more formidable spy and a nearly uncatchable runner. Trevor gained a measure of fame among the Parisian Lost when he bet that he could pick pocket the notoriously paranoid Winter King and won. The prize he won was the first clause of the Contract of Separation.

Quiet Trevor, as he had come to be called by the Parisian Changelings, found the Court politics to be distasteful, even going so far as to label them as treacherous and misguided. He continually rebuffed repeated advances by the courts for membership. The more he viewed the courts the more he saw the corruption in the system. As time passed he started to consider taking action against the corruption that made his life difficult. It came to a head when Etienne joined the Spring Court and got mired in the schemes and machinations of the system.

After 3 years in Paris and vowing to never be subject of a Court, Quiet Trevor longed to return to his home in the States, Detroit. Having only paltry money and no passport or proof of identity he had to sneak aboard a cargo ship bound for New York. Once there he made his way back to Detroit, stopping in various Freeholds along the way, whether seen or not. Finally he had returned home, but found that his family was torn apart by the death of his father 3 years before. His fetch had taken over is life and was inextricably entwined with it. Quiet Trevor had no choice but to build a new life for him self. with some diligence he was able to find a changeling that could build a rudimentary identity for him. To the mortal world he became Trevor Kolchak, a name he took from his father’s favorite tv show in the 70’s.

Disillusioned and pained by his stay in Detroit he began looking for other places to live. He settled on Midland, Michgan, hoping that there ae changelings there for him to get to know.
