Merit Details:
Background: Rea was abducted early and rescued late. So late that she barely remembers anything of her life Before, and carries the stigma of emotional neglect imposed on her by The Choir Empress in her real world persona. Evie brought her to Edinburgh, but she quickly drifted off into the countryside, though she seems to have some sort of deal with the Autumn King of Edinburgh, that enigmatic Draconic.

Rumours
- Graceful Aline, the new Winter Queen of Edinburgh had her royal tiara made by Rea.
- Rea's smithing is the way she deals with pyrophobia.
- Rea has a thing for royalty.
- Rigger has entered into a pledge of unknown substance and length with Rea to learn her secrets about making clockwork birds. In return, she sends him one a month. The October one sounds, in twilight, to be a bit like Vestigere.
- Rea has been talking to the Bishop of Inverness. It's possible she is thinking of joining the Blackbirds...
- The Choir Empress has a tree form that looks like a younger version of Rea. Are we sure that the True Fae are motherless?
- Rea once bore nineteen fruit that have been scattered across Arcadia. Each contains a piece of her soul. When they are gathered and fed to Rea, she will become human again.
Quotes
Rea, matter-of-factly: "Nobody misses me."
"... crazy pikey bitch. did i ever tell you how much elementals piss me off sometimes? Jeez, anyone would think i tried to pull her eyes out or something." - Steampunk
"It is rare to find a woman with such understandings of the perfections and intricities necessary for this delicate work. I give her the highest praise I can: she is nice. I speak not of kindness, but of precision." - Rigger
"Blunt and to the point...certainly never expected to get asked all that on a first meeting! But I guess she's precise. Maybe her sharper edges will get smoothed off the more she gets out and about." - Aria
"Her hair's really pretty and she seems lovely. Oh! Her horse is gorgeous, even though it drools and I think her caravan looks really nice. She likes whiskey.. or is it Scotch? I don't know! I don't remember well but she gave me a little shoe horse and I really like it, i think it's in my pocket. Her hair though, it's gorgeous!" - Reeva
"I do not know what to make of her at times, but her workmanship is superbly beautiful and does her great credit." - Graceful Aline
"Someone to take a drink with, as long as you don't put much value on your liver." - Orpheus Bane
"She's so convinced that the world doesn't move. It's sad. She just... can't see it. She seems good, but... I think she's buried her heart so she didn't lose it, and now she can't remember where." - Arthur MacAodh
"Sit with her, drink with her, and talk to her. I like Rea, just wish that she'd learn to listen as a person rather than as a tree. That said our conversations grew a lot more palatable after a little dispute stopped us nearly killing each other." - Carin
"Nothing frightens me more than the thought that tomorrow I might wake up and be nothing more than the beast in the garden again, but with Rea, I don't know: It's almost like she might be better suited to being a tree. A bit strange, but then, who am I to judge? I'm glad I got to spend some time with her." - Brawlin' Bram
"One day I shall get around to introducing her to the riddle I have for her. It'll be interesting to see her solution to it." - Orpheus Bane
"Scary tree. Good to travel with. Quiet." - Obadiah
"Anyone who says she shouldn't walk up and down the country the way she does 'just in case she scares humans' really and truly has no idea about who and what she is. And her silver work's amazing." - Deyanira
"They did number on her. Now she's doing one on herself. Something broken there, something not right. Don't know if it can be fixed. She's dangerous, that's certain." - Malakai
"Strangely, I'm less afraid of her than I think I ought to be. She's...solid, which is something most people aren't. Most people think passion means you change whenever the wind blows...but I think Rea's passion is being for something so strongly she isn't even aware there's another option." - Violet Pennyfarthing
"Now... i THINK i know the reason why me and Rea don't get on too well. Hear me out, right... Theres three things well known for destroying trees. Lightning, Fire and Metal. Now, i'm two of those options right there. Anyway, Reas interesting in a kind of 'holy crap, see this is what im talking about' kind of way. I don't know if i want to know whats going on in her head most of the time" - Steampunk
"She's in my Motley, so I've kinda got to like her, but she can be kinda...creepy." - Rosie
There's something comfortingly familiar about her, she's got a real centre; maybe it's just the whole tree thing, but I'm not sure. Hoffman
"There's a person inside the bark, with feelings and hopes and dreams. It just hurts so bad she doesn't want to admit it." - Cormac the Poet
"Rea... Rea. First, she terrifies me, but mostly 'cos she's an elemental that is really in touch with her element. Next... hell. I'm an elemental, and she terrifies me cos I can understand the way it is. Anyone who ain't an elemental ain't gonna understand, see? You change. You ain't human. Hell you're lucky if you're something which is supposed to be alive, yeah? Hell. Makes it a pain to try an' live a life, love an' have friends cos deep down... well. I can understand why she gave up, cos it is a trial to keep it up all the time. But cos of all that, I will find her a desire, and I will make her have a reason to come back to the world all the way. And I will do it for a nominal fee." - Satrap Sam
"Just because she doesn't want to accept my friendship, doesn't mean she doesn't have it. And yes, thankyou, I do thoroughly appreciate that I'm the bird, and she has amazing wood. Go die." - Toby
