History

The Freehold of Reelfoot Rift was founded after the New Madrid Earthquake of 1812. The earthquake, which sent the Mississippi River flowing backwards and changed course shaping Eastern Arkansas, happened as a True Fae chased their slave into the real world. The Keeper used everything at his disposal and reclaimed his escaped toy. But with the frivolous use of his powers the area was torn asunder.

It was then that Changelings in the area formed the Freehold in the area that eventually became known as West Memphis. They finally realized how important it was and what it could be like when a Keeper comes calling. The Freehold existed throughout the years. On the eve of the new Millennium the Muse Erato stepped up as the Queen of the Freehold. She claimed that the birth of the New Millennium was nothing but one big rebirth in eras. And since she was of the Spring court it was only right for her to be the Queen. This was an unusual request but since she was very well liked by the local Changelings she went unchallenged and reigned since.

On August 29, 2007 Queen Erato and her entire Spring court were traveling to Memphis to participate in some festivities. As the crossed the Hernando Desoto Bridge a Keeper appeared and after a struggle reclaimed the entire group. The power of the struggle once again affected the real world, but luckily a lot less profound. The bridge shook and began to sink into the ground. The city closed the bridge for a few days and added support to reinforce the bridge, a disaster averted.
