Reverie

Introduction
There is a section of downtown Manhattan, where the streets run together in odd angles and create half-streets and little islands. On one of those islands, nestled between busy thoroughfare and quiet side street sits a building with a red door. Behind that door is a jumbled collection of sofas, lounges, chairs and odd tables, pushed together to create intimate seating areas in front of windows and in dark corners. Delicious smells come from the kitchen door, which is often left wide open, and espresso and drinks are available behind a bar at the end of the room. It's comfortable here, cozy without the kitch...you want to sit, to relax, eat. They always have your favorite thing on the menu.
Welcome to Reverie.
The colors are bright, but the lighting is not. Intense turquoise and vibrant aubergine paint the walls, partially obscured by gilded mirrors of all sizes and an eclectic collection of art, much of it signed by the local artists who created it. Vines and greenery seem to sprout from the very walls themselves and snake their way amongst the maze. The cushions are worn, but in good repair, occasionally patched, and you sink into them deeply. The almost random Japanese screens loosely divide the room and the configuration changes regularly.
For those who enjoy their bit of outdoors, the gardens of Reverie are always busy. Neat paths cut between unmarked groups of things growing - vegetables and fruit by their season, herbs and spices. A second door leads out of Reverie to the garden, though it is always closed tightly, and a door in the floor leads to the cellar. The overall scent is cinnamon, though mint and oregano mix with it to create a scent you can taste. The large wall around the gardens are covered in growing things, which flower in the Spring and add their sweet scent to the cacophony. To the right, a slightly too neat, too organized garden box houses neatly divided plants and a sign "Public Garden".
Our Story
Reverie Tea House is sanctuary to both wanderers and locals alike. It is the place where you can enjoy a book wrapped up in a hand-made afhgan in quiet corner; or a place where you can laugh and live with true freedom. It is a place where there are no strangers, just friends you haven't met yet. It's a place to heal, a place to grow, a place to learn, a place to live. But above all, it's a place to be.
'Round Reverie
A lot of bodies move in and out of the shop, from employees to clients to Lost claiming a night or two within the safe walls.

Testimonials & Reviews
For those who've spent a night beneath our eaves or those who savor our confections.
- Reverie is peace. Reverie is a home away from home. - Remy Carson
- This is a peaceful place. A simple sanctuary for those who have lost much. Yet, as the Professor said in that movie, "I feel a great swell of pity for the person who comes to this place looking for trouble." - Myo
- Without Reverie, Wendy's would have never become a reality. Without Erised and Molly, I would have never learned the business. - Darling
- My brother has a knack for turning a business like I'd have never imagined. Reverie is one of my favorite spots to go and think, or to go and watch others think. When it comes down to it, the inn will be there to keep you safe, but the spirit of the place will be there to keep you smiling. - Edria Meredith
