OOC NOTE: ALL REFERENCES TO THE BROTHERHOOD OF MIDNIGHT RAVENS ARE STRICTLY OOC INFO EXCEPT TO MEMBERS OF THAT GROUP!
Just the facts, plain and simple
Alias(es): Rufus Arrowny (among Changelings and his ninjitsu students), Emilio Cagliano (among other mortals)
Real Name: Unknown
Age: Chronologically: 81 (Born: 1926). Time spent in mortal world: approximately 56 years. Apparent age: 81.
Durance: 1957-1982, aged in "real time"
Concept: Fae-trained Ninja
Entitlement: Phantom Tong
Society: Brotherhood of Midnight Ravens, Masque of Shadow
Physical description: Lean and short, with an obviously oriental complexion. Whispy gray hair. That is how he appears when interacting with changeling society or the mortals at his ninjitsu school. When interacting with larger mortal society, he often takes on an appearance as a rather stereotypically mafia-esque looking fellow, a large Italian man in a business suit. Either way, he seems to be on the older end of things, in seventies or even eighties.
Mien: Under the Mask, Rufus appears almost as if he were a shadow. He is slender and seems to have something of an insubstantial quality to him. Shadows dance across his skin, in the form of his hedgespun clothing. He has no real face to speak of, just the same oriental eyes he does in his Mask and a thin, nondescript mouth.
Keeper: Shinobi no Oni
Who is but a function following the form of what, and what I am is a man in a mask
Once upon a midnight dreary
Basic Timeline:
1926 - Birth of Rufus (Pending approval)
1945 - After Hiroshima, Rufus falls under attention of his future Keeper, is dragged through some Hedge, takes a Pledge to Keeper, gets Ensorcelled, exits in a Japanese internment camp in America. His death is faked back home by Keeper, he receives word family is dead. Also, meets love interest in camp.
1957 - Breaks his Pledge, refusing to give up said love interest to his Keeper, and is dragged to Arcadia.
1957-1982 - In Arcadia. Aged in real time.
1982 - Breaks free from his Keeper, stumbles back into the ruins of the camp, as that was his strongest memory.
1982-1990 - Getting on his feet in the LA area, gets involved with petty street crime to survive. Becomes a member of the Children of Misery.
1990-2001 - various and sundry involvement across the country. Moved further East, started his bar under a fake identity. Also, met with Valentine. Also formed the Motley with the group that would later lead to the founding of the Brotherhood.
2001 - Founding of the Brotherhood and establishment of Maleperduys. A busy year for Rufus, to say the least. By year's end, people have started to realize his "clarity issues".
2002 - Meets with Sliver, a Bishop, who takes pity on him. Under the urging of this Bishop, Rufus enters into a semi-sebatical state, staying away on retreat between meetings of the Brotherhood. Rufus' only contact with the world at large is through these groups.
2003 - Formation of the House of Perfidy.
2005 - Rufus comes back to society at large, re-establishing his some of his mortal connections. He seems to have healed well, and dedicates himself to advising and directing young changelings for their benefit.
2006 - Rufus begins a Radio Free Fae broadcast under the pseudonym "The Voice of Silence"
2007 - Thornwall falls. Rufus helps lead some of the more fragile members away.
Current Activities: Runs a school of "traditional ninjitsu" in Milan, Indiana, and is the proprietor of a Hookah bar in Newport, Kentucky called "The Smoking Apple".
Background: Rufus speaks little of his past, but it is generally assumed (and he will confirm) he was Japanese by birth, and remembers seeing the bomb fall on Hiroshima, his family's ancestral home. This topic obviously causes him great anger.
