Of mountains sunk beneath the sea, an overview
Saudade (singular) or Saudades (plural) (pronounced [sawˈdade] in Galician, pronounced [sawˈdadɨ] in European Portuguese and [sawˈdadʒi] or [sawˈdadi] in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Galician and Portuguese word for a feeling of longing for something that one is fond of, who is gone, but might return in a distant future. It often carries a fatalist tone and a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might really never return.

Physical description:
He is 5"5 or so with a slim frame, deep set eyes, and a manner which suggests a great weight upon his shoulders. Saudade is a pale young man and although not particularly handsome there is something about him that is very striking, almost seductive. Perhaps it is the haunted and melancholy light which perpetually resides in his brooding eyes. Where his heart should be there is a crystal pane revealing silver gears instead of a heart.

- At some point the Weeping Queen grew tired of mourning these things and being the Weeping Queen. Perhaps, she had finally had no tears left to shed. She wiped her memorial gardens away with a gesture and dismissed those who were captive in her service.
- He wandered lost until he found his way back through the Hedge.
- In his travels he encountered his doppelganger, his fetch.
