I was so young then, you know it hurt me
But I'm breathing, so I guess I'm still alive
Even though signs seem to tell me otherwise

Alias(es): Static, Ghost, Noisy, Louise
Real Name: Louis G. Eberhard
Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Age: unknown
Seeming: Darkling
Kith: TBD
Court: Autumn
Concept: Broken Soldier
Physical description (Mask): A little larger than the other men in his company, Louis is burly but not particularly muscular. His hair is receding and his gut is growing, both of them very slowly as the years carry on. He has a softness around his face but his eyes are sharp and piercing. Except when they go dull.
Physical description (Mein): A good sized boy, he is still burly but not overly muscular. Strong, certainly, but his size belies his quickness of movement. Constantly in motion, his eyes or his hands, Static is definitely more hyper than his Mask shows. His eyes change color often, never exactly the same twice. His face is broad and honest, but his skin tone changes from pale with freckles all the way to dark brown and everything in between. He is shaped normally, although some people report to have seen him with multiple eyes on his face, anywhere from one to three at a time.
Mantle: When in close contact with Static, the air is warmer and seems to smell of ozone.

Background:
Born sometime in the early 50's, Louis grew up in a family that had very strong ties to the military so it was expected of him to join when he was old enough. He enlisted in the Army and was dispatched to Vietnam in 1967. His life before his enlisting is virtually unknown as he does not discuss it casually with anyone, even the other members of his company. He does speak somewhat fondly of his father, most of the time, but almost never discusses his mother. He's known to refer to people as "mother" from time to time, but there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to this behavior.
He enlisted in the fall of 1967, claiming at the time to be escaping his house and the "wretched villainy that imposes itself upon those who enter." Some of his mates during boot camp claim he was more than a little strange once enlisted, but was completely functional and even excelled at some of his classes. He was deployed shortly afterwards, early 1968 and his instructors during basic considered him a model soldier. They were sure he wouldn't live six months in the jungle, but no one would say that aloud.
While in Vietnam, Louis earned a Silver Star for performance in a stressful combat situation, but the circumstances are unknown to him or so he claims. He gained a reputation, and quickly, for being both friendly and personable with his fellow soldiers but when the bullets started flying and the napalm hit the ground, he would become all business. He was known in his platoon for keeping a cool head under pressure, almost thriving in the most difficult of circumstances.
In late 1968, however, the platoon he was dispatched with found him experimenting with a VC he had recently incapacitated in the jungle. Twisting a knife back and forth, he found he could elicit muscular reactions from the dead body, making it twitch in all manner of ways. His seeming fascination with this activity would have earned him a discharge from active duty had he not disappeared with the rest of Poole's company the following year, before the paperwork could be filed.
His captor was a wicked old man, intent on scaring the rest of the fae around his home into leaving he and his experiments alone. Louis was charged with performing all manner of vile and hideous activities to drive off possible interlopers. Whether this changed him somehow or not is unknown. How he escaped his captivity is also a matter for speculation, but some say they have heard him discuss how he killed and ate the fae holding him. Whether or not he had is impossible to ever know.
Current Activities:
Louis does what he can to get by. The other members of his company keep a tight wrap on his location and stay in contact as much as possible. If he will maintain a level of normalcy or go off the deep end remains to be seen.
