Physical description:
Mask: Jacob is slightly short, with messy brown hair and dark, subdued eyes. His limbs are long, with slender fingers at home in a notebook or on an organ's keyboard.
Mien: Swan looks much like a typical darkling might, though the white feathers that mingle with his black hair, pointed ears, and striking looks could also easily place him as a beast or fairest. He tends to dress in a fashion similar to what a hi-class goth might aspire too. He is fond of scarves, high-collared shirts and long coats, typically in black with a white shirt. He has never been heard to speak much louder than a whisper. If he has a Mantle, it is not immediately obvious.

Known History
Basic Timeline:
Of his durance, Swan speaks little. He will only say that he was taken sometime in late 1999, was not gone for very long, and that he had not one, but two Keepers. He does not often or easily impart any further information.
Keeper
Swan has revealed that of his theoretical two Keepers, one was a patron (or patroness) of vocal arts, while the other was a Nameless thing that waited in the darkness after death. "It's not that it wasn't named," whispers Swan. "It's that a name of any kind just wouldn't stick."
Current Activities:
Swan currently is an organist for a small church in Southeast Portland. Outside of that, he spends much of his current time songwriting, as he has been relieved of his normal court advisor duties to the freehold. He has also been known to volunteer at the Dougy Center, a peer support group for young people who have lost a family member.

Background:
Swan seems to have spent some of his early life in southern California, but emerged from the Hedge in Portland around the year 2000 or so. Since 2003, he has served the Winter Monarch of Dormant Fire as a diplomat/ambassador/representative to the Monarchs of the other courts when they were in power.

Suggestions - Swan has aspects of Fairest, Beasts, and Darkling in him, and relates decently with most of the above. As he writes and plays music, he is open to ties with other musicians and artists. Swan grew up in San Diego from 1972 to 1990, and was in Los Angeles from summer 1990 through summer 1999, both times as a mortal only. He has otherwise stayed primarily in Portland since late 2000 as a changeling.

Swan's "delicate sensibilities" are easily offended by the more brutish among the Ogre seeming, though that's not usually enough for a full-blown emnity. The Summer Court's rashness tends to cause Swan to want to rein them in, whether they want to be reined or not (usually not). Strangely enough for a member of the Winter Court, he has a strong dislike for the Duchy of the Icebound Heart, and has worked to frustrate their efforts whenever he can.

Rumors
- Swan is the same person as famed singer/songwriter Kyle Swan, who was arrested in Texas in 1999 on four counts of statutory rape.
- Thanks to a special contract Swan made with Autumn, he is unable to feel fear.
- Swan is so good at the art of the deal, that he managed to bargain for his own release from Faerie.
- Before he was taken, Swan was given a free ride to Julliard...and would have graduated, had he not kept giving free rides to his professors, too.
- Swan is apparently open to intercourse with anything that walks on two legs - and maybe a few that don't, as well.
- Swan is reluctant to speak of his durance because he was used by his Keeper(s) to locate esacped changelings lost in the Hedge.
- Swan is older than he claims to be - his attitude and aptitudes reveal him to be a contemporary of Jean-Paul Sartre.
