Guild's History

( more coming soon pending background ties and approvals)

A few years ago (2001), seeing the void that existed in The Fae-Touched society, a group of like minded Artisans of some prominence formed a small network of Wholesalers and vendors they all used, as well as some of the best Artists and Crafters from around the world. What resulted was The Exalted Guild of the Fae-Touched Artisans. As the Guild grew so did its prominence in the world of the Changelings.

After a few years and an influx of members, the guild decided to institute a policy of "Craft Unions" within its ranks, such as a union for smiths, tailors and the like. This was just an organized group of individuals that work on similar or the same crafts and are made up from all ranks of the guild. These unions help each other to understand different facets of their craft as well as having a deeper connection based on similar goals and tasks.

Artisan's Code

(More coming soon)

Oath of the Guilded Crafter

(this is only a code of conduct rather then an Oath made with pledgecraft, no mechanics)

  • Must adhere to all of the rules and regulations of the Exalted Guild of the Fae-Touched Artisan
  • Must give a fair price for crafts and services rendered. A fair monetary value, an appropriate sized boon, an appropriate pledge, or a trade of some item roughly of the same monetary value of the item(s) or services rendered to the patron. Never short change the patrons.
  • Do not sell to those deemed unworthy of our services, by the Grandmasters of the guild, such as Loyalists, banished True-Fae, bounty hunters, and the like.

Joining the Guild

(before play starts ignore the 3rd tenet of joining the guild. This will only take effect after play begins.)

There are very few requirements to joining The Artisan's Guild, but there are a few.

1) Must be a Craftsman, a Raw Materials Supplier, Artist that creates some physical work of art, or a patron of the arts.

2) Must Adhere to the Artisan's Code

3) Upon joining the Guild one must take the position of Apprentice or Artisan and study under either a Grandmaster Artisan or Master Artisan of his or her chosen craft. (One may also take an apprenticeship under a Master Artisans or Grandmaster Artisans of other crafts as well, and are encouraged to do so.) These Apprentices and Artisans are released from their apprenticeships after one year and a day, from first joining the guild and will then be given the title of Master Artisan. The exception to this is the Raw Materials Suppliers and the Patrons of the Arts, who are welcomed into the guild but may never rise in the ranks of Artisan unless they take an apprenticeship with one of the Masters or Grandmasters of the guild for the appointed year and a day.

Unions

Grand Master's Round Table

Their job as Grand Masters is to keep the guild running smoothly.

While this is not a more formal Union within the Guild of the Fae-Touched Artisan, it is a special group of individuals that span the gauntlet with there craft specialties. The individuals in this Union are the life's blood and driving force behind the operations of the guild. They work together to set policy for the aspects of business that the guild controls, such as membership, fair payments, arbitration between clients and crafter (or between crafter and crafter), any pledges of the guild, and (to a limited extent) clientel.

The GrandMaster's Round Table choses its members from amoungst the ranks of the Artisans and Master Artisans ranks and only when they need to replace a lost member or when they want to bestow a great honor on a member. They must reach a unanimous vote to extend an invite to join the group. They are always a group of an odd number and proportionate to the membership of the guild.

While he still maintains certain ties to some older and more skilled Lost in the Guild, they are personal ties only. Any affiliation with the Guild has dwindled to only personal relationships with its founders. ((any Grandmasters or older members that would like to cement ties from some time ago, please email me at luetkemeyer@hotmail.com))
Ozwald Savile has been invited many times to join the guild even being offered a position as a Grandmaster, but he continues to refuse for one reason or another.
